His Life

Young years

December 8, 2021
When Denny lived with his Grandma Zee in the Mount Shasta area, he became a Cub Scout. He went to Mountain Camp and acquired a certificate in archery. There, he played Little League Baseball and then football on the Dunsmuir Junior Varsity Team. He wore the #65. Next, he found his love of snow skiing. He had a yearly pass to ski at Mount Shasta and, over the years, he became an excellent skier.

When he was old enough to ride a motorbike, a new love developed. Dirt Bikes! We will hear from friends here who were with him as they packed up their bikes in the pickup truck and headed to parts unknown to ride. He participated in dirt bike racing events and friends say that he was known to be a Rock Star of this much-loved sport.

"Time to get a job Son"

December 9, 2021
One of the first jobs Denny had was working in silk screening. There was a job in a bicycle shop fixing bicycles that he enjoyed. Later, Dennis worked in construction, then became a residential and commercial painter; he was very good at this trade and knew how to do the job the right way. He once walked all around our house saying: "This needs caulking and painting." The house was new -- so he was saying it wasn't done right in the first place. One time he and Mickee visited us to paint our patio pergola which we all did together. It looks great to this day.

One of his heart's desires was to become a heavy equipment operator -- Tonka Toys, you know. Excavator, bulldozer, backhoes, and the like.
