DEWAYNE SHANNON was born to Samuel and Kay Starks Shannon on May 1, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended public schools and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

Dewayne was baptized at an early age.
 
Dewayne served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1961.

Dewayne was united in holy matrimony in 1957 to Patricia Pepper, to this union five children were born.


Dewayne was employed at National Starch and Chemical Company for thirty-five years.


Dewayne Shannon departed this life on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the age of seventy-five years.


He was prededed in death by his son, Michael  Anthony Shannon; three brothers, Otis, Logan, and Michael Shannon; two sisters, Dorothy Jacks and Inez Shannon-Gill.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Patricia Shannon; two daughters. Barbara Shannon-Johnson(Leroy) and Jackie Young (Albert Jr); two sons, Dewayne Samuel and Richard Douglas Shannon; two sisters, Patricia Hudson (Leon) and Wanda Benton; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
