Vonnay, it doesn't seem possible that a year has already passed since Don's passing. He will be in our thoughts today as we remember this as his birthday. We are happy to see that you are doing well and moving forward as I'm sure Don would have wanted for you. He has been missed and will continue to be by all his friends. Vonnay, Jeff, Chad & Dannielle: You are in my thoughts today, as we all celebrate Don's Birth 74 years ago and his life which showed love to each of us, forever a bright shining light. It is such a joy to remember favorite times with him. His smile reminds me my brother had a special gift to tease me with humor and make me laugh. Cherish the memories!!!

Some of us in the Department are saying goodbye to Chris McDonald as Department chair today. How appropriate to remember Don today! I sure do miss his gentle presence in the Math Department. He was well loved by his students and his colleagues....

To me, Don always had a pleasant disposition, with a wry and dry sense of humor, meant to make the listener think, as well as smile. He was more interested in focusing on what was best for a situation, rather than what might, or might not, be popular. A humble, gentle person.

I am sorry to find out that Don has passed away. I enjoyed working with him at Mt. SAC. I also enjoyed hiking with him up Mount Baldy, Mt Whitney, and Mt San Jacinto. Don was always kind and helpful to me and a good hiking pal.

Don started telling jokes at Parkinson's exercise class. Now it has become a ritual. Everytime a joke is told, Don is remembered for his humor and kindness. He is forever remembered in our class.

Always a warm, pleasant feeling to visit with Don. He never lost his sense of humor, that twinkle in his eye, his gift of listening and then replying with light-hearted, sincere, wisdom. He was funny and sweet and interesting, and also strong. He loved his family! He'll be missed

We will miss you Uncle Don, but know your rejoicing with our Lord. We loved your sense of humor and your gentle spirit. You were such a good example of a godly man and we learned so much from you. We will miss you so much. All our love to you and our dear Aunt Vonna.

I'm so sorry for the loss you, your family and all of us who knew Don have experienced. 20 years ago I was a new faculty at Mt SAC. Don was always available to answer questions and help in any way he could. Thanks for reminding me of how much Don meant to all of us here at MSAC!

As a student, I took Algebra with Don Brook in the early 90's. He was a gentle spirit and his passion for Mathematics was evident. I will always remember Mr. Brook doing his twenty push-ups before each class. I wish I could have gotten to know him better--God Bless!

Dearest Vonnay, I will remember Don as a sweet, gentle man...and a good bridge player. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Vonnay Betty and I Wish this kind of day would never come to our loved ones, But the Good Lord has told us that life would not be eary. I was not a blood member of this family but Don always made me feel like a brother and I will always hold that dear.

Vonna..Froy called me today and told me about Don. I hope your heart is not heavy with sadness, but still filled with love, even though he will be sorely missed. I am sorry his last years were not what you both wished, but it is what it was. Love you both, Millie

Vonnay, I was a personal witness to Don's suffering during the last few months...and also to the magnificent support you gave him. He was so lucky to have such a strong Christian woman as his wife and support. It was so nice seeing him at Conservative Club meetings.

My Dad had a good life and I will miss him a lot. But he lives on because he was a follower our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ. Dad you have taught me many things: some I have forgotten,some I will remember later and others will never forget. Well Done. Thanks Dad I love you, Jeff

Don was always so gentle. Even if he was upset with you, he had a way of gently telling you he didnt approve. In his final years, as the Lord was preparing Don and his Family for his final day on earth, Don was always more interested in other people than himself.

"Those who have gone on before us, are cheering us on, from the grandstands of eternity." Knowing Don is one of those eases the pain. Don Brook...our loss...heaven's gain. I look forward to seeing that smile again. Vonnay, you and the entire family are in our prayers. With love..

We met the Brook family in Jasper in 1978, which developed into a friendship that included a canoe trip in Canada, visits in LA, here with us in New Zealand, and the priviledge of two days with Don and Vonnay during the last weeks of his life. Always remembered!

Uncle Don was a fantastic uncle and teacher. He took his time helping me with math problems through college. He was always happy, smiling and proud of his inventions.

Don was my big brother, partner, model, mentor and friend from beginning to end. I learned life from his example and wise counsel. Memories of sharing life together will continue to guide me. I thank God for him and look forward to our family reunion in Heaven.
