You were born 89 years ago today, and brought so much joy and love into the lives of so many. Just to name a few . . .

The first would have been your sweet, precious Mother. I know the joy a new mother has to bring a son into this world, even when we're wondering "What do I do now?" No doubt, you cried for food, a clean diaper, and lots of love and attention. She gave you all of that, as only a mother can do. She taught you right from wrong and helped you become a young man with strong principles to live by.

The second person whose life you changed would be me. We met in high
school when you were 16. Our paths would cross in the hallways as we went
from one class to another, and every time we met, you would wink at me. My
knees still go weak just remembering. It took us five years of dating to finally
know we wanted to be together, and it was a roller coaster ride from the start.
You called me 'Angel' before we got married, but quickly changed your mind
after we said 'I do', and I thought I was doing okay.  Dumb me! Of course
we had our ups and downs, but I assure you, you did a fantastic job taking
care of me. I always felt loved, and tell everyone you spoiled me. Thank you!

I just hope you knew you were (and still are) the love of my life. I had hoped
we could grow old together, but that wasn't God's plan. I can honestly shout
it from the rooftops that our 55 years of marriage were the best years of my
life and if we could do it over, we'd start sooner than we did.

The other Being you brought joy and love to was our awesome God. I know
He welcomed another one of His precious children when He brought you
home. During your final hours of trying to breathe, I told you more than once
to take God's hand and go home. I did not want to live without you, but it was
painful to watch you struggle, and I knew your Mom would be so happy to see
you. And you know what? At some appointed time, I will join you. I know you
will be watching for me and reaching for my hand and then we can walk hand
in hand for eternity, wrapped in God's unconditional love.

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for your contribution, Ron. Always good to hear from the folks closest to Mom & Dad and we appreciate you taking the time to comment. Speaking of that front porch, The Brothers Three just tarted the place up a bit and you'd be welcomed to come check out the new view (see new porch railing pics in the Gallery). Hope you're well! ~Tod

Here's to your special day, Donald F. You remain as talked about, present in people's minds, and loved as always. Miss you and the cat-smile. Keep us a space cleaned out, we'll all see you again soon, though not TOO soon.... Love you. ~T
