Doug was "Everyone's big brother". He wanted to help everyone he could, in anyway he could. In the several years I worked with him, I was always impressed with how he treated the people around him. He is now a missing person from my list of favorite people. Doug was all about having fun, laughing with others and even at himself. I loved the way he waited for the punch line of a long joke, just like a kid waiting to see Santa Clause. He loved to laugh and often laughed himself to tears. One of my favorite memories was of him tell me about a brand new sports car he bought right out of High School. It came with a cassette player and he had the dealership pull it out and replace it with an 8-Track player, because he thought "those cassettes will never catch on". He told me he liked sticking with what worked, just like his haircut. :-) Doug was also wise beyond his years. Years ago, when I was just a new employee and a Newlywed, he advised me to start saving for retirement. I told him I had no extra money to do such a thing. With some tough love, he made me promise to start right then. I did so, and it was a great and rare piece of advice from one young person to another.
Doug, you are missed by so many. -- Skip
