I figured out that your plan was to never be older than me, and continue to claim that you weren't dying your hair.

Where did you hide the Entemanns?

It's been three years, I am struck by how often I think of Doug, and his larger than life personality, his wit, his smile, his kindness... Every time I hear any of Van Morrison's songs, my mind goes back to the last time I spent time with him speaking about Van Morrison, and the painting Doug had of him. Later as I left his funeral service, the very first tune I heard was "Into the Mystic," and I think forever it will remind me of Doug. Blessings especially today to Diane, Jake, Madison, Ken,, Keri, Mrs. Nugent, his mother, and his family.

I didn't know Douglas personally but wanted to share a message of encouragement. From the comments I can see he was deeply cared about and loved by friends and family and made a big impact on the lives of others. I saw one comment pointed to the Bible and wanted to share one more positive scripture. We can look forward to a time when Isaiah 25:8 will be fulfilled that God will swallow up death forever or eliminate it all together and wipe tears from everyone's faces. Until that time deep sympathy--- Julia

A reading from the book of Wisdom (4:7-15)
The righteous, though they die early, will be at rest.
For old age is not honored for length of time,
or measured by number of years;
but understanding is grey hair for anyone,
and a blameless life is ripe old age.
There were some who pleased God and were loved by him,
and while living among sinners were taken up.
They were caught up so that evil might not change their understanding
or guile deceive their souls.
For the fascination of wickedness obscures what is good,
and roving desire perverts the innocent mind.
Being perfected in a short time,
they fulfilled long years;
for their souls were pleasing to the Lord,
therefore he took them quickly from the midst of wickedness.
Yet the peoples saw and did not understand,
or take such a thing to heart,
that God’s grace and mercy are with his elect,
and that he watches over his holy ones.

May God grant peace to Doug's soul, to his family, and friends.

My prayers and deepest condolences to the Nugent family. Doug will be missed by all of us who loved him. He was always supportive of me and was a real friend. His personality was radiant toward others and always seemed to find the good in people and brought out the best in them. Gonna miss him dearly. Diane and entire Nugent family will be in my prayers.

I am at a loss for words. Doug, I would first want to thank you for giving me a "chance of a lifetime." I can remember when you first hired me in 1996 as an Investigator for KSN! I will ever be so grateful for the opportunity that I still am presently doing. It was you that told me, the Trevor, I know that you can handle it! And I am still handling it today. The Lord has used you to impact and touch so many lives on so many levels. My prayer is that others will recognize the "light" that shined in your life. And for your lovely wife Diane and your kids, may they find the peace of God that surpasses all understanding in their daily walk. As I reflect back on our relationship, I know in my heart that God used you as a willing vessel to fulfill "HIS" ultimate plan! Thank you Doug for being obedient. Love you again Mr. Douglas G. Nugent! Thanks

I write this tribute with great sadness concerning the loss of our dear boss and friend. Our family have been blessed to have known Doug and the entire Nugent family for more than 20 years. Doug was a very compassionate, humorous, and generous family man! I have many fond memories of working with "Uncle Doug" at KSN and I will hold those memories close to my heart forever. Trevor and I will be forever grateful to God for our relationship and the friendship with Doug! We are in continued prayer for his beautiful wife Diane, his children, parents, and the Nugent family.

Thinking and praying for you family. I have been blessed to give the "Thought of the day" because of Doug. 20 Years ago...he asked me to give him a scripture everyday and it has turned into a life changing event for me. I appreciate Doug's forethought into my life. I don't think he fully understood the impact....but I am grateful he spoke into my life that day. Family....you stay encouraged!

Doug and Diane were relatively new members of our Roswell neighborhood but it didn't take long before they became like old friends. Doug's warmth extended to everyone he met and his acerbic New York sense of humor was a breath of fresh air. He was never too busy to speak to anyone and usually left you with a laugh. He was taken from us too soon. Our neighborhood lost a fine friend.

Matthew and I were deeply saddened to hear the news of Doug's passing. Though it has been a few years since we've seen Doug, Matthew and I have such fond memories of him and our time working at the firm and talk about him often. The entire family had such a great impact on our lives. Our prayers go out to Doug's family. He will be missed.

I have known Doug for 11 years. Always a smile and hug for me. He always showed concern for all of us and took time out of his busy schedule to sit and chat to see how we were. It was a joy to see him and spend time with him. I myself remember his smile, fire balls, his jokes, kindness and most of all his generosity. My condolences go out to Diane, his children and all of his family. He is truly missed it will never be the same.

This is truly a sad day for all of us here at the firm and for so many more who knew and loved Doug. The tough New York exterior was one of the most endearing things about him. From the volunteering he headed up for all of us at Clyde's Kitchen to the handing out of the fireball candies, to just his presence around the office... you will be missed Doug...and Diane...you're beautiful inside and out and my thoughts are prayers are with you and your entire family. Rest easy Doug and know you made a positive impact on every single person who ever met you.

Pam & I received the awful news as we were sitting on an airplane on Saturday getting ready to come home. We both cried for most of the trip home. We have known Doug for almost 22 years and feel that we have lost a true friend. He was one of the most sincere, genuine, down to earth people I have ever known and cannot imagine life without him and his famous "fireball" candy. Our prayers are with Diane and their children and the entire Nugent family. God love you Doug, you will be terribly missed and never forgotten.

It started out as a job interview almost 17 years ago, during this interview Doug and I shared our mutual love for New York and the New York Yankees - we've been friends ever since. Doug always found a way to connect with people in a sincere and genuine way. I will never forget his thoughtfulness and generosity. Though we are not related, I truly feel like I lost a family member. The office dynamic will never be the same. I'm completely heartbroken. I will truly miss you my friend!

Doug Nugent was truly one of a kind. He was a genuine friend whose spirit could brighten the darkest room. When I would hear that voice coming around the corner it would always put a smile on my face. He was a ray of sunshine. I have known Doug for almost 20 years and I feel honored that he called me his friend. My deepest condolences go out to Diane, his children and the rest of the Nugent family. He will forever be missed. Sweet dreams my dear friend.

Over a period of twenty years, I watched Doug as he interacted with clients and with staff at the law firm. A mischievous sense of humor complemented his intrinsic kindness. Doug had an appreciation of classical music which I share, and I enjoyed discussing with him concerts we had attended or pieces of music we especially liked. Though his loss will be felt most keenly by his family, I will miss him, too.
