I remember it being ~1972 when Stephen and I met. We lived around the corner from each other, and grew up together amongst a group of friends on Montgomery St., Brooklyn, NY. Among the years I grew fond of the Meeks family and forever that shall remain... With so many years shared with Stephen and family, I have been blessed to be a "sister" to Keith and Dwayne, a "daughter" to my other mother Pearl, and a dear friend in life with Stephen. There are no words I can express for the loss of Stephen, but God knows best and to know him was to love him.... He was witty, had a great sense of humor, humble, and a accomplished man. A warrior, a father, a teacher, a help mate to those he didn't even know, and so much more...
I thank God for blessing us to have known each other for 40+ years! Stephen will be forever missed and remembered by me, and many others because of who he was, and how he lived his life. A legacy of a job well done on earth caring for mankind, and service to others that will live on forever.....
Please join me in prayer for the Meeks family.
Rest In Peace My Dear Friend,
Dr. Stephen Abayomi Meeks
