This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Dr Olumide Awe, 59, who was born on February 27, 1955 and sadly passed away on September 21, 2014. We will remember him forever.

'We are sincerely grateful for all who have shown us love and support, shared encouraging wods, memories and stood with us in prayer during this time. Thank you to all those who were involved with the planning, preparation and implementation of what was indeed a befitting homegoing service, burial and service of songs for our son, husband, father, brother and friend; Dr. Olumide Oluwagbolahan Awe.

May the Lord God Almightly reward you for your labour of love.

God bless you all abundantly.'

Miss you my friend and pen pal. It is hard to believe it has been 5 years since you and my mom have passed. I know your visit with her in June 2014, one month before she died was very special for her. I will always remember her happiness seeing you and your family. I remember her possessiveness of her time with all of you, especially Ayo. She did not appreciate one of the other residents coming over to join us. So funny. Rest in Peace dear friend, Lorraine.

It is hard to believe four years have passed. You were called home on Adam's birthday and 2 months after my mom passed away. I still remember the last visit we had with you, Bola, Enny, Ayo, Russell, Anita and my mom at her residence. Mom was so happy to see everyone. I am so grateful for that final visit. I know you are looking down on all of us and watching your beautiful grandchildren grow. Your legacy continues.

Olumide Olugbolahan Awe, time and tide have passed since your departure to the abode of the Saints, but be assured that your classmates still appreciate your contribution earnestly as members of a highly cherished fraternity (ICOBA 67-73 Set) as if you are very present with duty to keep your wife and children in our contemplative musings. May the glory of your children exceed your expectations and be embroidered with ornaments set aside for the anointed. Awe, while you rest in the bosom of Almighty God's angels, always remember to dutifully watch over your wife and children. You are missed by many more folks than you could have imagined to the extent that, it makes you worthy of the accolades that have been set aside for only the deserving alumni of our great alma mater. May your soul continue to rest in peace perfect peace.

Psalm 8
Hymn 513(SS&S) O God Our help in ages past......
Praising the Lord in time of grieve
In times like this we are encouraged to give thanks and praise the Lord for we are told that in all things we should give thanks -Ephesians 5:20 1Thessalonians5:18,Psalms 107:1,Psalms118:1 Psalms106:1,1Chronicles16:34.
Exactly 2 years ago our friend and brother was called to be with the Lord
We sorely missed him and we thank the Lord for keeping his family and his friends.
The Lord had been a refuge and a fortress for his immediate family now headed by his wife Mrs Bola Awe.We thank the Lord for His faithfulness for He promised and assured us that He will never leave us nor forsake us -Hebrews 13:5b,Deuteronomy 31:6, 8,Joshua1:5,
Olumide did ordinary deeds and simple forms of human helpfulness, he had a generous spirit that is what endeared him to us all .
Whatever we do in word or in deed, we should do it heartily to the Lord and not to men. God takes notice and it delights our Heavenly Father .
Let us continue to support the family in our prayers and also through phone calls, text messages etc ,this goes a long way in gradually reducing the devastating impact of the loss.
May the soul of the departed continue to rest in peace Amen

University Of Cambridge -2006

Olumide, with this photograph, I remember fondly your usual caring manner, when you volunteered to drive all of us to University Of Cambridge in 2006 to settle Somi in, on his first day. You acted in loco parentis to all my children till your last days remembering also your taking Semilore, your God-daughter whom you fondly call 'Little Lady' back to School in November 2013.
Your loving good memories will be forever in our hearts. We all miss you.

Preparing for the Wedding

October 2, 2014

Prior to their wedding, Olu and Bola came to Canada to make some important purchases. David and Russ took Olu out to buy" the ring". Chris went with Bola to buy" the white dress". This was a time to get to know one another better and the beginning of a very long friendship.  We all had such a wonderful time. It was an honour to help them prepare for a wedding that led to a loving marriage and three wonderful children.

We first met
