A Gift That Gave It All

April 18
Your Love for God was second to none. I remember you preaching one day in a church on the topic "showers of blessings" and it started to rain. Everyone ran into the rain to get blessed.

I told you I wanted a second baby and you said just a word of prayer, I got pregnant the next month and when she came, you named her Wuraola. You were not an ordinary man, you were a prophet.

Your Love for me gave me so much courage to face life. I knew I could achieve anything just because I had you.
I am so grateful to God for counting me worthy to be one of your children, it's a great privilege.

You stood by me, unashamedly, every step of the way, you were always present, I am super grateful Dad.

There's so much I want to say, but I am actually lost for words. I am sure you have found the peace and rest you so much desire.

Thank you so much Daddy. I Love and miss you so so much.

You are love personified which most people took bad advantage of,  you are lovable and loved by all that their path crossed you. I have the conviction that you are resting on the bossom of your Lord because your last words to me was, I quote "I have won" Mo ti win and I replied you that yes, you are a winner. REST ON MY LORD, KING, CROWN, LOVE.....Your second favorite Bible verse is Revelations 22: 12... And, behold, I come quickly, my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Your Queen and lovely wife.

The vacuum you left in my heart is irreplaceable, you are such a prayer warrior, bible scholar, jovial, pleasant, philanthropist and lover of God's works.
Most often, you gave out what you didn't have and began to pray for God's provision to meet the pledges. You are a wonderful father to my children and a loving husband as well. You fought a lot of battles from your birth till your demise and won all through your stubborn faith. I will forever remember your words of wisdom and miss your counsels, prayers, support and love. Your memories remain in my heart till we meet again my King. Your favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 9 verse 11 :The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, neither yet the bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet Favour to men of skill, but time and chance happen to them all.

A Great Lesson

April 17
I remember missing a school assignment in elementary school (Pry 2 or 3) and not wanting to go to school because I didn't want to get punished. I refused to get on the school bus and went back home to tell my mum I missed the bus. She was angry and told me to trek to school. I went behind your room and stayed there crying. You called me and asked me what happened. You then went ahead to tell my mum to pardon me since it was my first time doing that.

You took me to your office, I got to spend a day with you at work watching you work magic, seeing the nurses and your other colleagues defer to you.

When it was noon, you took me to Oje market in Ibadan. We spent some time just walking around. I saw little children like myself hawking in the hot sun. I asked you why the children were not in school and you just smiled. I told you I wanted to go back to your office because it was cool and more beautiful there. I didn't like being in the hot sun.

Back in your office I got loads of snacks and chilled drink. After eating, in a very calm voice, you told me if I wanted to one day be in a office like yours and not in the sun like the market people, I needed to go to school whether I felt like it or not and to never give up. That lesson has stuck with me and helped me through some really difficult times in my life, if you show up and keep trying things will work out eventually.

Thank you dad, that is one lesson that has made a difference in my life. Folake Shobamowo (Daughter)

The Incurable Optimist

April 17
I remember days when mum would cook a good stew, dad would ask us to go bring the whole pot and finish it. His reason was that "Jesus might come in the night" to which mum would respond "What if Jesus doesn't come, are we going to feed on air tomorrow?".
We would pretend to listen to her but then stay up late to watch movies and finish all the protein in the stew.

You lived each day like it was the last, you worked hard, cared for people and gave your best to anything you put your mind to do.

You will forever be in our hearts. Folake Shobamowo (Daughter)
