Mother Edna G. Dingle was born September 8, 1912, in Georgetown,SC to Edward and Ella Moultrie. She moved to Savannah,GA at an early age and attended Second Arnold Baptist Church located on Arnold St. She joined Second Arnold at age 13 and was baptized in the Savannah River by the late Pastor H.J.
Washington who also was a cousin.

Mother Dingle completed school at Cuyler and moved on to attend Nursing School through the Charity Hospital and Training School for Nurses. She moved from hospital to private duty as an LPN specializing in the care of newborns. A later change in vocation led to 20 years at the Savannah Police Department as a police matron and office clerk where she retired in 1976.

Mother Dingle's spiritual endeavors include Senior Choir and Gospel Chorus; one of the organizers of the Bolden Mission, past president of the Senior Mission, taught Sunday School for 30 years and was first chairperson of the Christian Education Minstry. She was selected one of 4 Mothers of the Church April 25, 2004.

In 1999, Mother Dingle was crowned Queen of the Berean Association, a noted Christian organization

Mother Dingle was the oldest member in age and membership at Second Arnold.

Mother Dingle was the widow of the late Pastor Emeritus George D. Dingle of Second Arnold, mother of 2 daughters (one deceased) grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 10, great-great grandmother of 6.
