Her Life
October 16, 2017

Mrs. Stephens was born February 15, 1934 in Stone Mountain to the late Charlie Bert Moon, Sr. and Bessie Pearl Bruce Moon. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Marietta.

She was employed as a clerk for JC Penney Credit, from where she retired after many years of service.

She loved her family dearly, and was a devoted wife to her husband, Mr. Charlie Stephens, Jr., who preceded her in death. Family gatherings gave her great joy. She loved to cook a meal and have everyone at the house for dinner. Sometimes she would serve vegetables from her garden, which she took great pride in having each year.

One of her favorite pastimes was sewing. She loved to create quilts, and gave many to her family. Each stitch she made was a stitch of love for the recipient of her special quilts.

Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Colleen Stephens of Franklin; three grandchildren: Chip Stephens (Marti), Clint Stephens (Amanda), and Christine Carroll (Marty); four great-grandchildren: Hank Stephens, Kyle Carroll, Luke Carroll, and Lani Carroll; one sister, Mildred Martin (Winnon) of Buford; one brother, Jerry Moon (Dixie) of Dacula; brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Frankie Stephens of Winston; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
