Letter to Daddy
As the first man in our lives no one else compared to you. The joy and the sorrows we endured together will forever be etched in our hearts. The multitude of life lessons we learned from you, even when you thought we were not listening, have molded us into the women we are today. We are eternally grateful.
The reality of never hearing you say, "Baby Girl, Baby Girl, listen to your dear old dad!" makes our hearts heavy but having the memories is blessing enough.
Although some choices we will never understand our hearts can accept your good intentions. Life may not allow for human perfection but the heart of a daughter can overlook any shortcomings.
For a man to demonstrate strength to the world is easy but the moments of tears he shares with his daughters takes a courage beyond measure. Some fathers leave their earthly bodies never having shared that vulnerable side of their spirit with anyone, but with your daughters you were able to reveal your deepest thoughts, hurts, and regrets.
You walked through life asking others to learn from your mistakes. You offered unfiltered advice rather we wanted it or not. You shared a wisdom many fathers keep to themselves and for these reasons and many more we are thankful for being your "Baby Girls".
Eternally,
StayBrae and Drini Pooh.
