Dad always wanted to live on a farm but Mom wouldn't so we bought a house with a large lot, had a half a dozen fruit trees, 2 pigs and a flock of chickens.  It was a great house.  Lots of fruit to eat all summer, a swing to play on and a yard big enough to run around in.

It was great in those days because all family member would pitch in and help build an addition on your house or help you build a garage.

Dad loved the beach and almost every weekend we would picnic in Port Dover.  The beach was much larger then and more fun.  It was great.  Dad would come in the water with all the nieces and nephews and we'd all swim together.
