Three years already...I feel your presence daily, especially when we're planning our Family Reunions, because we know how much you wanted all of us to keep in touch. I'm looking forward to this year because Meg, Zach, Sam, and Rosie will be joining us. Sam loves meeting all his new "friends" and talks about them for weeks after. It's so important for our kids and grandkids to know family, the support and love they all have for everyone. I'm excited. And, thank you for taking such good care of Dad for us...we miss him every day.

We have started to have Family Reunions because of you, Eileen. It has been wonderful seeing all the cousins, catching up with everyone, and just plain laughing and enjoying each other's company. I'm so very glad you initiated this a few years ago because it inspired us to keep it going. It's important for Mom and Gina to reminisce and enjoy watching the kids' antics! Thank you Eileen-keep everyone up there in line and give Dad a special hug from all of his kids and Mom!!

Not a day goes by that I don't think of Aunt Eileen... But I still feel her so close by.... In reflection this past year we lost such dear ones but I find comfort in knowing they are all together with the loved ones we have lost in years before... And they are now our angels from above... We must especially for Eileen's sake keep our family together ... So like Mary Pat I too felt her saying... Just do it... Life to short... So let's plan something soon... Maybe this summer. Stay tuned.... Meanwhile keep them all in our prayers ... And know they are looking over us and smiling!!! ❤️

Four of the cornerstones of my life left us in the past year. I tell my kids that when you come to that fork in the road and you don't know which way to go. Just say to yourself "Which way would Aunt Eileen go? " They left us with so many gifts....knowledge, hard work, and family....we will never stop missing you Eileen.

It's hard to believe it has been a year already. I know our Mom misses Eileen's weekly phone calls from McDonald's, keeping her updated about the rest of the family. I'm hoping we, as a family, can plan something in the near future. There are so many of our kids who haven't even met their cousins. I can almost feel Eileen pushing me to start planning something! We miss you!!

Every family should have an Aunt Eileen! Someone very caring and loyal to her family and the creator of the family birthday/anniversary list and address book that I, as others, depended on often over the years. I will forever remember her words of encouragement and advice in anything I or my family were doing. She wanted us to keep learning, loving, and giving to each other and to help to make life better for others. Our family was truly blessed to be loved by her and to love her.

Aunt Eileen - please give my dad a hug when you get to heaven! I smile when I remember watching you with your sisters.....reminds me of how I feel when I'm with my sisters. Thank you for modeling that for us. Rest.....you deserve it. Love you always.

One of my cousins referred to Eileen as a "firecracker" and my goodness, did that ever describe her!  My St. Joe memories are so vivid and of course, all of them include Eileen. The "click, click, click" of her heels as she headed toward me, alerted not only me, but all of my friends that she was "on a mission". They'd say, "Here she comes Mare," and I knew that no matter what she had to say, there was always that underlying message...I care about you, I want you to do well, be sure to ask me for help if you need it. Over the years I've come to realize how important it was to have her there at St. Joe's...her continuous "checking in", daily trips (which were often out of her way) to touch base, and making sure whenever I made the trip home that my car was filled with all kinds of goodies for her NH family, made me realize that family always came first with her. I am so very glad we were able to celebrate family last June at Lorna and Al's...she looked wonderful, was in great spirits, and celebrated life! As my sister Eileen said so well...we have another angel in heaven to look after us!!

Again I find myself feeling so grateful for being born into this wonderful family! Aunt Eileen, like her sisters Gloria, Grace, Gina, and her brothers, Michael and Arthur, and dear in-laws, she has been a continual source of love, support, and inspiration. I feel truly blessed to love and be loved by each of them. Aunt Eileen lived her life with purpose, always thinking how she could make life better for others, ease their burdens. She worked hard to teach her her students, worked for members of her parish, and for her clients in her paralegal work. She inspires me to try to live the same. Thank you and love you always!

Since Aug. 1994 Eileen called me every Sun.and asked questions about Mickey's (Jr.'s.) family in NH - Today is Sun. and I feel so sad that the call won't be coming, She accomplished so much in her lifetime and touched so many lives. Eileen you will be missed, but not forgotten as you have been an inspiration to me and many others..THANKS

The child in me remembers the homemade chocolates and treats Eileen always brought when she came to the holiday gatherings. The adult in me will never forget her selflessness, generosity and service to others. Wherever she went, she brought love, hope and faith. She lives on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

I remember stories my Dad (Ken Whittaker) would tell us about Eileen and our Acerno family. I wished we had lived closer and could have gotten to know you all better. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Our aunt Eileen lived her life and her faith to the fullest. Her selflessness, devotion to her family and her dedication was an example to all of us. Our family was truly blessed by her love and we will always keep her close to our hearts.

Family was so important to Eileen, and Eileen was so important to our family. She always encouraged the women in our family to get a good education and to keep a good head on our shoulders. She will be very missed but her kindness, selflessness and strength will live on in the hearts of everyone that knew her.
