One of my cousins referred to Eileen as a "firecracker" and my goodness, did that ever describe her! My St. Joe memories are so vivid and of course, all of them include Eileen. The "click, click, click" of her heels as she headed toward me, alerted not only me, but all of my friends that she was "on a mission". They'd say, "Here she comes Mare," and I knew that no matter what she had to say, there was always that underlying message...I care about you, I want you to do well, be sure to ask me for help if you need it. Over the years I've come to realize how important it was to have her there at St. Joe's...her continuous "checking in", daily trips (which were often out of her way) to touch base, and making sure whenever I made the trip home that my car was filled with all kinds of goodies for her NH family, made me realize that family always came first with her. I am so very glad we were able to celebrate family last June at Lorna and Al's...she looked wonderful, was in great spirits, and celebrated life! As my sister Eileen said so well...we have another angel in heaven to look after us!!
