We lost our hero and family Patriarch today as our father Eli passed away this morning. Husband, father, father in law, great grandfather and uncle and one helluva guy with a wicked sense of humor who treated everyone with respect and gratitude. If you met him, you immediately liked him and his warm smile.
Dad was an artist (his acrylic paintings hung in many of our homes), loved classical music, an avid Big Blue Giants fan, loved Sinatra and Bennett and he was a key component of the Greatest Generation.
A former POW interred in a German camp, recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and French Legion of Honor, he is a father whose worth can never be told. There's a place in our hearts no one can fill. We miss you Dad and always will.
The loss of a father, no matter how old you are, changes your life forever, you never really get over the loss, you learn to live with the loss and he is never far from your thoughts.
Hey Dad. I’m listening to Ol’ Blue Eyes right now doing My Way, just as you did in life.
In memory of Eli Linden, WWII veteran, kindly donate to Chariots of Honor, to honor our father and his fellow veterans.
