I am devastated by this ugly news about Pa/Dr Elias Kowunefine. This is surely an irreplaceable and irreparable LOSS for the entire NACDA family. He was phenomenal,emblematic and monumental in his patriotism for Awing in particular and Cameroon in general. I was once told that life is like a rose garden. God seems to pick the best ones. Today that feels true. The death of a loved one at an unexpected time makes you see everything in life so differently. Suddenly, most things are just not a big deal. I wish R.I.P stood for “Return If Possible”. I did not know DR. Elias Konwufine personally, though I knew his name. From his biography on this memorial site, I can see that he had worked very hard. May he rest from his labours! The Awing community in particular and Cameroon as a whole have lost an elite indeed! My heart goes to his widow and kids. May God strengthen them in this difficult time and give them grace to go on living!

Dear Dr/Pa Konwufine, I have never met you. I missed this opportunity last December in Awing when a visitor held me back from visiting your family compound. Reading from others, I can't help but shed tears for this painful loss for Awing. I pray that the Almighty God in His infinite love and mercy console your immediate family.

I was very stunned to learn about the death of Elias. I still cannot believe that he died so unexpectedly. Pa Elias, I did not have the opportunity to meet you in person but the two times we talked over the phone in November 2012 have left a lasting memory. Rest in peace till we meet to part no more.

Dr. /Pa Konwufine’s leadership qualities, his dynamism and exceptional zeal to serve and do good in the world weren't limited to his enlarged family (which he headed) but flowed freely to anyone who came across him.

You became a housewhole name during the NACDA Convention as you worked tiredlessly organizing the Fon's coming. Reaching D.C., I made sure to put a face to that name that sounded so loud and clear. Dr. K greeted me each morning in the office with a smile and his favorite saying to me: "Good morning----Dr. Justice for Criminals." I will miss those morning smiles through the glass that separated our desks! My ritual reply to him was: Good morning--- Dr. Non-Justice for Criminals."
