Her Life

Biography of Mrs Eno Shobo

May 5, 2021
She was born on that faithful day of 26th September, 1948 into the family of late Knight and Mrs Edmund Etim Usanga, who hail from Oboetim, in Nsit Ibom local government area of the present day Akwa Ibom State.
Her father was an outstanding police officer and it was during one of his postings to the mid west region that he met one wonderful maiden, Mary Sagay, from Amukope, Sapele.
Her birth came just after 2 hours of labour at exactly 2pm, into this wonderful catholic family as per available records. She maintained the faith as a catholic until her death.
The people of Akwa Ibom call their first daughter ADIAHA. This brought so much favour and gift to the family. The name ENO was given to her, which means GIFT; and she remained a gift to the family and others at large until her death.
She started primary school education at Aladura Mission School, Oke Bola, Ibadan from where she attended Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Ibadan.
She was an alumni of UNILAG, BA Business Administration and was a felloe of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
She worked in various organisations - JB Industries as Head of Human Resources, Crown Cock Company and Tower Aluminium until she retired to become a Consultant.
She remained a turning point in life of many; she was a family builder, friend, counsellor, intercessor, lover of family unit, disciplinarian, teacher, reconciliator, full of compassion to always help, very kind hearted and full of encouragement whenever you come to her with issues of life. Always smiling.
Looking back, we can boldly say she was and still is the best mother, grandmother, sister and friend in the whole world.
She is survived by husband, children, grandchildren, six sisters and a brother. We shall greatly miss her. May her soul rest in peace. Adieu! Adieu! Adieu
