One year today and it all still feels like yesterday. It feels like just yesterday you (Uncle Eric) said to me..."Maeh I want sunglasses like the ones you're wearing so that I can sit out here in the sun". I gave my sunglasses to you, not knowing that would be your last request from me and my last gift (material) to you.

One year today and it all still feels like yesterday, when that dreaded call came and   there was nothing left to do but remember the time we had with you; the smile you so generously showered on everyone you met, the love you wholeheartedly shared with the world and the kind, selfless acts you bestowed upon all.

One year today and it all still feels like yesterday...
Gone but Never Forgotten

June 24, 2012

Yes, I cannot thank Eric enough for providing me with a copy of the above picture. We were classmates in PS Kumba Town Class 6A, with Mr. Alobwede far left as teacher. From the picture, I am the pupil (not student) kneeling next to the teacher (no tie) while Eric is standing next to the Student teacher (far -right with white shirt and black tie) with open shirt no buttons.
I do not know where to start regarding all the fun stories with Eric, from going to bath at Barombi-Lake after end of term exams, learning how to swim in a swimming pool behind GTTC, same pool used by prisoners. Climbing the fruit trees called Cast mango along the path leading to the main GTTC campus. Bathing in the Elongo River and many many wonderful memories.

I have know Eric since PS kumba town where we both members of the school band during 11th. Feb and 20th. May marching in Town green. I have lots of tears in my eye and I will always remember and will forever miss your friendship.I have lost a very dear friend indeed. May you rest in peace.

One week before you made your transition

June 21, 2012

Eric it was wonderful having you as a dear friend and I was blessed to get a phone call from you because I was always encouraged before we hang up the phone.
One week before you made the transition to our Daddy God I recieved a phone call from a close friend that you wanted to see me. Your instructions were that I do not call but come by and boy I'm I glad I obeyed and came by that fateful Tuesday. I was a bit skeptical and wondered all night what you really wanted to discuss with me. I got to your store and there you were getting therapy from the sun. I had never seen you that weak before but you still gathered the strength and energy to first smile and acknowledge my presence. Then as the business man that you always were, you got straight to business and told me why. I was relieved because the task you gave me was one that I can handle by God's grace and I thank you for trusting me. If I knew that would be our last conversation I would have told you how your encouragements helped me a lot of times when I got tired or confused whether I was on the right track. I would have told you so much but I guess you knew and now know the kind of man you were... a true blessing. Rest in peace my dear brother and friend, I will always remember the last task you gave me.

Sammy & Eric at the hospital

June 19, 2012

Bro, I remember this day so well. I had come to visit you and had to take you to one of your several hospital appointments. You were doing so well and we had a very good time, talking about our childhood experiences in K town and Abakwa. What a coincidence that we had to grow up together in two different towns!.  I remember you telling Gla and myself how " I di play ma own  Ndamba now na for bed" and Glad confirmed that you are always kicking in your sleep. Bro, all your athletic skills gone.  Besides being a soccer player, you were also a very refined gymnast. All we have now is past memories. I returned to Texas with so much joy telling every one how you were doing so well. Yes you did put up a good fight but guess the Lord God decided it was time for you to rest. May your  soul rest in perfect peace.

Network-1

June 9, 2012

Tim and I both worked at Network-1 Security Solutions.  We had been long time friends before that.  I brought him in and he ended up with a better base salary becuase he had a Masters Degree.

I watched Tim move from an apartment to a house to a beatiful three story condo.  He made things happen, always driven, never an unkind word, always the optimist
