We grew up knowing Sister Esther as part of our family, so it's quite difficult to know the exact year. She has always been with us, caring for us with a Midas touch, norturing us and following the instructions of her elder sister, and our mom, to the letter (in respect of our care)

I recall with nostalgia one of those instructions...if the milk I give you for your morning cereal isn't enough, use part of your tea to augment it!

She was such a a darling...she took care of us as if we were her very own! The loyalty she gave to our Mom, even at the point of death of our Mom, was unparalleled! She's one to never raise her voice. All she needed to do was to tell us 'mummy so wipe...' and we quickly reset ourselves!

Adieu, Sister Esther, you were wonderful, a virtuous woman, you have gone to rest and we shall meet at the feet of our Lord in Jesus name. Amen

Biography

April 28
*Biography*
Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 peter 1:3
Mrs Esther Bolaji Olawale ( Nee Afowowe) fondly called "Iya Aduke" was born April 28, 1948 to Chief John Ajayi Afowowe and Madam Elizabeth Olayemi Afowowe (Nee Ati) of Oke Okuta compound at Ipetu Ijesha, Osun State, Nigeria. Mrs Esther Bolaji Olawale went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2024. To God be the Glory!
Mrs Esther Bolaji Olawale had her elementary school at St Paul Anglican Primary school, Ipetu Ijesha in 1954-1960. Her secondary education was at St Paul Anglican modern school, Ipetu Ijesha in 1960-1963.
After her modern education and the death of her father, Mrs Esther proceeded to her sister's place (Late Deaconess Juliana Mopelola Ajibola) at Ibadan, where she was trained to become a well skilled and professional fashion designer at Ajibola Home of Fashion. She was trustworthy, respectful and had great ability to multitask.
On the 13th of December 1975, Mrs Esther got married to her sweetheart Elder Richard Olatunji Olawale. Their union is blessed with children and grandchildren at the time she answered the call of the Lord. Hallelujah!
Some year after their stay in Ibadan, Mrs Esther and her husband decided to relocate to Badagry Lagos State, where she started doing business (selling of foodstuffs such as Garri, Elubo, Rice, Beans, maize etc at wholesale prices) at Agbalata and other small markets around the community.
Mrs Esther Bolaji Olawale was a devoted Christian. She was always in church. She was a bonafide member of women's morning prayer at Freeman memorial Methodist cathedral Badagry. Mrs Esther never stopped attending Sunday services and other programme in the church till she was called to glory.
"Moomi" fondly called by her Children was a strong woman and a goal-getter who fought tirelessly to protect her Children from the dangers of time. She was a virtuous and patient woman who taught everyone around her morals. "Iya Aduke" fondly called by people was a great teacher, very generous, easy going, peace maker and a great supportive system to her Children and family, and a woman every Child would always pray to have as a mother.
For Saints, death is not a time for sorrow but that of joy.
" *For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first" 1 Thessalonians 4:16*

My tribute

Moomi, you are such a wonderful mother to us all! you will be greatly missed.
My mother doesn't want quarrel among her children, you will hear her saying: ti eba tin ba arayin ja, inu mi kin dun, Aduke, ba mi ko awon aburo re moraa...
I have never seen my mother fighting or quarrel with anyone, she was friendly to all and always like giving to others.
I learned a lot from my mother but the most cherished one is the act of giving which I practice till date.
Moomi, I know you are sleeping to wake up on the resurrection day, I love you but God loves you more, continued resting on the bossom of your Lord Jesus Christ, till we meet to part no more!
Good night sweet mother!!

Your daughter
Aina Akinyemi
