To a dear aunt, your departure marked the end of an era for you shined in your generation and outlived your generation.
You were born into a great family with a rich history, fame, fortune and privilege. You lived well, aged gracefully and could easily pass for someone much younger than you. I knew you were advancing in age but as if one could muscle death, I asked Kingsley in January to tell you to stay put.
I have many cherished memories to recount. My siblings and I grew up with yours, and your daughter Ngozi was a role-model to us. As a teenager in Secondary School, I spent some of my holiday periods in Enugu. Before school resumed, you would give pocket money and gifts but most importantly impart life lessons and advise to a budding young man. You forged a close bond with your siblings especially my mother and your brothers. It is up to us now to carry forward the legacy.
From you, the product of several years of childlessness, would come forth many generations and counting of biological offspring and survivors - children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God truly works in mysterious ways, and to Him only be the glory.
Rest in Peace dear aunty. You will be sorely missed!
