I met Mama at Oge and Alex’s wedding in 2009, but there was really no opportunity to bond with them. It was three years ago when I visited Oge and Alex in Dallas, Texas that I spent the day with her and Alex’s dad. The first thing that struck me about her was her calm demeanor. She also left me in no doubt that she was happy with her son’s choice of wife, Oge who is my beloved cousin. She liked her and that’s what mattered to me.
Mama you did not live long enough to enjoy your lovely wife and grand daughters. I am however happy that you had a great opportunity to spend quality time with them when they visited Nigeria in September 2015. I thank God also for the time you spent with them during your visits to Dallas. No doubt, they have acquired an additional guardian angel.
Mama you will be missed greatly. May your gentle soul rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon you. I pray that God will grant Alex, Oge, your husband and the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss.
