His Life
January 22, 2018

Mr. Hornsby was born September 15, 1933 in Randolph County, AL to the late Joseph Thompson Hornsby and Essie Susie Gillespie Hornsby. He was a faithful member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church, and attended every Sunday until his health began to fail him.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a shipping supervisor for Douglas Lommason in Newnan.

At home, he liked to play the guitar and spend time with his family, whom he loved dearly. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He particularly enjoyed hunting rabbits, and had several dogs that served him well in the woods. He always had a four-wheeler or a golf cart that he would drive around the area. His grandchildren always looked forward to a ride with their grandfather.

Survivors include: his wife, Toby Hornsby of Franklin; three daughters: Katrnia Prince (Jerry) of Franklin, Kacelia Hornsby (Steve McElroy) of Carrollton, and Angelia Bailey (Scott) of Franklin; four grandchildren: Jason Prince, Chant Bailey, Bria Buongiorno and Joseph Forman; six great-grandchildren: Maddison, Liara and Sophia Bailey, Chloe Jones, Bentley Forman and Lily McCormick; two sisters: Eris Walston and Jean Kitchens both of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zeke Bailey; three sisters: Willie Kate Hembree, Eunice Ridley and Era Walston; and a brother, Coy Hornsby. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children in his name.
