I suddenly developed an allergy to raw carrots in 1996; and  resorted to making my coleslaws from scratch. I always added a pinch of sugar for some sweetness until Uncle George told me one day to add a 50:50 mixture of Mayonnaise and Salad cream instead of the sugar. Needless to say that that became my signature recipe for coleslaw. I am so so sad that I am not going to see you again.
