Born in Shack, GA, Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Willie Jackson, Sr and Fannie Stephens Jackson. 

Residing in Columbus most of her life, she was a Entertainer and in later years, a home-maker. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and its Vocal Choir. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Boyd; a son and daughter, Bernard Barnes, Billie Barnes Burns and a nephew William" Willie" Jackson III.

Survivors include a loving daughter, Barbara Barnes Porter; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; one sister, Dora Roberson; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
