I was a graduate of VNHS in 1959 (preceding Vint Cerf) and Miss Reese (as we knew her) was one of our class sponsors. She came to our 50th Reunion (http://www.samurai59.org). A great lady, teacher and sponsor. Thank you Miss Reese.

I was a high school student in the late 50s and early 1960s, graduating from Van Nuys High in winter 1961. As a former member of the math team, I was invited by Flo Reese to attend the celebratory dinner of the 1961 team at the Sportsman's Lodge on Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando Valley. I remember Flo as a young, attractive 28 year old math teacher who was devoted to her students and enthusiastic about her subject. Two of her students, Steve Crocker and I, went on to become part of the team that developed the ARPANET and the INTERNET.

Flo was always that happy, loving, gentle, generous and honest light in our lives. She was a true friend with whom you could share your deepest thoughts . She would listen without judgement. I remember her as a VERY loving and caring mother to Eric and Laura. Even though she worked full time, she was available and participated in many of their actives. Flo was there with the cookies, cakes, and all the other goodies that were required when your children were involved in activities. She had an enormous amount of love for everyone. I especially remember when the 3Ts were coming to visit, Laura and Flo were so happy to be with them. You could feel the happiness abounding in the house.  I want everyone to know how she loved my daughter Christy and how Christy LOVED her. Flo was her second mother! Flo was so patient and generous with her time advising Christy how to apply for her first teaching job as a math teacher. Christy and Laura were (BFF) even before we knew what that meant!! Lee, Laura and Eric are blessed to have had Flo as a wife and mother. With deepest sympathy and Love. Bob and Eileen
