Uncle George, I miss you so much. I can't believe three years have already passed since you left us. This is such a hard month, but I find peace and comfort in knowing you are with our Lord. I love you, and please give my Dad a kiss. <3

I still think of you every day, and I miss your laughter and your wisdom and counsel. You and my father had an everlasting effect on me. I can hear you both laughing and waxing philosophical by turns. My prayers are with you as I hope yours are with me.

Uncle George,

You and my dad are so present to me every day. You both still teach me through the examples of your well-lived, righteous lives. I thank God daily for the lifetime of memories and lessons you provided and continue to supply. I thank both of you for providing a bedrock basis for my faith and my spiritual formation. I know you are at peace together in the Divine Mercy of the heart of our Savior, Jesus Christ.c

Dear Father Anthony

Two years later and we still miss you. May the angels escort you to paradise, may the martyrs and Saints welcome you and may the Mother of God be your faithful companion as you go to meet the eternal king and priest.

Father Anthony was a true blessing for the Maronite Church. He brought holiness, humor, docility to take any assignment, and real faithfulness to do whatever God asked of him. We will certainly miss him. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

We laid Uncle George to rest yesterday in a beautiful service at the Maronite Cathedral in Beverly Hills. It is hard for me to fully realize the tremendous influence George had on me. It is deep and everlasting. I will remember him most for his wit, generosity and religious devotion. He rests now in the peace of our Lord. David

Father Anthony was a very special person. He had that rare combination of intellect, holiness and wonderful sense of humor. He touched our lives greatly, including having baptized both our children and will always be remembered. His memorial service yesterday was very beautiful. May he rest in peace and our condolences to his family. Fram and Jeanine Akiki

Fr. Anthony was a great man and a huge part of our family's lives. His first action at St. Rafqa was to baptize our younger son Andrew and both Andrew and his older brother Stephen received their First Communion/Confirmation from him. They both served him as altar boys and he was very close to us. We will miss him but know that he is praying for us.  Geoff, Maria, Stephen and Andrew Akiki
