Her Life

Frances Smith-Clements was born September 30, 1926 in Warm Springs, Georgia to the late Mrs. Carrie Mae and Mr. Henry Smith, Sr. She departed this life on September 9, 2012 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.     Mrs. Frances joined True Mount Temple Baptist Church, Warm Springs, Georgia at an early age where she served faithfully till her health failed her.    

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to George Clements, Sr.; to this union nine children were born.    

She was known to be a hard working woman with a strong determination to provide for her family. She began her career with the Warm Springs Rehabilitation where she worked in laundry and later faithfully as a housekeeper. She retired after thirty-six years of dedicated service.    

She had a passion for cooking, gardening, and making sure her home was cleaned at all times. She was preceded in death by her late husband, George Clements, Sr.; two daughters, Maybelle Clements, and Mildred Clements; one son, George Clements, Jr.; four sisters, Sarah Revell, Carrie Lou Williams, Cora Woods and Annie Mae Mickens; one brother, Henry Smith Jr.    

Mrs. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, and will be known for her smile, dedication and hard work. She leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters, Alma Clements, Betty Ann Clements and Annette Holmes, all of Warm Springs, GA; three sons, Jimmy Clements, Warm Springs, GA, Cleveland Clements, College Park, GA, and Melvin (Linda) Clements, Conyers, GA; and one great grandchild that she raised as her own from birth, Arianna (Sweetie Meetie) Tucker; three sisters, Lena Richardson, Emma Tisseria and Mattie (Linwood) Underdue, all of Schenectady, NY; one brother-in-law, Sylvester (Willie Mae) Hill of LaGrange, GA; a host of nieces and nephews, a very special niece LeAnn Whitehead of Warm Springs, GA.    

Fourteen grandchildren, Barbara Deloach, Artemus Hudson, Warren (Amber) Clements, Sophronia Holmes-Thomas, Devron Revels, Derrick Clements, Tavares Clements, Astria Clark, Dexter Clements, Donovan (Keena) Clements, Ambrica Clements, Melvin (Farrah) Clements, Tiffany Clements, Shatoya (Victor) Clements-Meredith.    

Eighteen great grandchildren......... who will love and miss her dearly.    

Special friends, Crystal Boddie, Clara Cheney, Atrean Anderson, Liza Russell, Susie Farley, and Chris Gates.    

A very special friend Ms. Christine Geddis who she called "grandma" at her time at Magnolia Manor.
