I will forever remember Uncle Fred! My Dads best friend in College and throughout my childhood . Losing my dad at age 19 he was a happy reminder of my dad these last 30 plus years . Telling stories for hours and making us laugh! I will miss him terribly!

I remember Fred's very first golf round in early spring of 1962. He borrowed clubs from me on a Saturday and was off to Papago Golf Course to meet some friends. Later that afternoon he returned and I asked him how it went. He said it was OK but was a little disappointed in his score, only in the mid 90's. I remember thinking to myself that I had been playing golf for 3 or 4 years and was elated every time I could break 100! He was truly a natural athlete. We enjoyed many years of friendship since ASU. He was a dear friend.

Like everyone who met him, I too adored Fred. I met Fred and Shireen just a couple of years ago when I started attending their church. He was incredibly kind to my daughters and myself and made me feel like we were old friends right away. I really missed seeing them after their move to the east valley, and loved it when they would occasionally come back to their Scottsdale church for a visit. Whenever we chatted Fred told me stories about his grandkids and it was obvious how very proud he was of his family. May your many wonderful memories bring you peace. Fred was a bright light, I will miss him. 

I'm just heartbroken. Loved Fred so much. He always had a smile, a kind word and funny story to share. He was my favorite dance partner. He and Shireen always were so kind to me, fussed over me and worried about me all the time. Showed up with chicken soup and Kleenex when I was sick, were the first to visit me in the hospital and kept me busy and checked on me constantly after Mike passed. They were always so much fun to be with. Fred was someone I always looked up to for so many reasons. I could go on and on. Loved him with all my heart and will miss him always. Sending love and condolences to Shireen and their family. 

The pictures were fantastic! We really enjoyed looking at all of the great times the family shared together. We know he will be greatly missed and we share our condolences with all of you!

Reading about all of his Sun Devil pride was a joy!

Fred and I were classmates at ASU, friends for 60 years and he was a client, too.

We went to a lot of Christian functions together with his good friend Steve Fedorchak.

We golfed, had a couple of beers and really enjoyed life.

My heart is broken. Fred and Shireen have always been "my heroes" as a couple! I just adored both of them. Fred was the cutest man on the planet. I used to work with Shireen (my husband and I called her, Shireeney-weeny), and the first time I met Fred was in the "copy room". He came in to pick up Shireen for work, and proceeded to dance with her, cheek to cheek, in the copy room! Shireen was always "shooshing" him off, but I know that she LOVED his playfulness! I remember an anniversary celebration in their beautiful back yard in Mesa....with so many life long friend who also adored them! We've had the amazing privilege of sharing a few very special evenings with them as their guests for dinner. They were always the "hosts with the most"! I hope Shireen is doing as okay as can be expected. Please, please give her my love. I am so sorry to hear of this very sad news. The world will never be quite as bright without Fred's sparkly spirit. What amazing examples they were of what is possible when two people who were meant for each other, fall in love, and share their gifts as a couple, with those who are fortunate enough to call them friends!

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Shireen and her family. I have been receiving emails recently about the passing of Sundevil team mates but Fred's hit me the hardest. After graduation I went back to Pennsylvania and have seen Fred only one time in all those years and it was certainly a joyuos occasion. Not only was Fred valuable team mate, he was my fraternity brother, and a very good friend. He will be missed and may God help us get over his loss!

I always enjoyed our conversations about sports - specifically how much better the PAC 12 was than the Big 10 - Big 10 is too slow he said! Freddie always had the slickest new golf club that will change your game. He was a good friend and a great father figure. I will miss him

Fred and Shireen were our neighbors when we married one month after them. Sherry was a bridesmaid in their wedding. In the early days we spent many evenings together dining on our patio or their patio apartment. In the later years we often dined at their home in Fountain Hills. we remained close friends for more than 50 years. I played golf with Fred on many outings. He would always win with his "booming" drives. Fred was always a devoted sun devil. Tim / Sherry Bray

Fred we were friends for over 60 years. We spent many good years on the football field together, but we also had many good times with our families.
It looks like Frank is getting the team together one by one up in his new stadium in the sky. Be sure to save me a good seat in his heavenly stadium. Remember to make those seats big enough so we can fit in them. 
Enjoyed our last trip out together memorializing Coach Tamburo , even though our lunch wasn't that hot. Because of covid-19 we weren't able to spend more time together, but I cherish the times we did get to go to breakfast. I know you won't miss those tacky lunches at the raceway, so I hope lunches will be better up there. Love to good times.  Steve Fedorchak (Marge too)

Fred was a great friend and grandfather. We had the privilege of sharing three wonderful grandchildren whom we both loved dearly. Since our backgrounds and experiences were different, we both had much to share with them. I looked forward to spending some time with Fred because he was always glad to see me and one of the best conversationalists I have ever meet. We talked about how lucky we were that Courtney and Warren fit in so well with our families and each other. Fred will be greatly missed by all of us.
