I am honored to have known him. I know he is at last in peace and free from pain and tears with his Heavenly Father. See you a little later, Fred.

My uncle Freddy was a great man. He survived the sinking of his destroyer, the Drexler, at the end of World War II. Late in his life he sought reconciliation with his former enemies, participating in the filming of a documentary about kamikazes. Then he went to Japan with my aunt Ruth and met some kamikaze survivors. If we had more people like Uncle Freddy on this planet, we wouldn't be in such a mess! I loved him and will miss him greatly. Rest in peace!

Fred, I will miss your infectious smile, laughter and flirty nature. You lived a full life and so happy that I was able to be a small part of that journey. May you be at peace. You will forever be missed.
