I knew Fred as a friend and a patient for many years. I always enjoyed our visits together, of course adding extra time to talk fishing and compare tall stories about the big catch or being chased by a moose etc. Occasionally Fred would bring in some personally tied flies as his remedy for "shack fever"
I feel very privileged to have known Fred and so sad about his passing.

During my pre-teen years Fred, together with his brother Carl, were my idols. They took me under their wing in so many ways as if I was their younger brother I fondly remember being taken on their fishing trips and also remember sitting in a duck blind with them for hours patiently waiting for the ducks to fly close. Because of my youth I was just an observer to their hunting and fishing activities, but such activities were a highlight in my life and and gave me fond memories to hang on to forever. Fred was always so kind and thoughtful - a solid credit to his upbringing in a wonderful family environment. I, along with so many others will miss him dearly.

I was the oldest of four kids in my family. Fred and Carl were a few years older than I and I always liked to think of them as my older brothers instead of cousins. I looked up to them and admired all the things that they did. They were great hunters and fishermen and their model planes were amazing!
Their family hosted many great family gatherings and gave us many wonderful childhood memories.
They were both sincere, wonderful adults and I'm grateful we were family together as kids and friends as we grew older.
We will miss Fred and send Janet, Fred Jr., Robyn and their families our love and support.

To the Zietz family,
It was such a pleasure knowing Fred and family for the many years they lived next door to the Desnica family. Fred always had such a beautiful yard and a well manicured garden full of such tempting vegetables. Janet, children and granddaughter were the love of Fred's life and they will always miss him and cherish they years together. May God watch over all of you and bring you peace knowing he is now home with the Lord.  Corky Allomong

Dear Zietz Family,
Our hearts were broken when we heard of the loss of Mr Zietz. He was such a special man and I will treasure many memories of him.  I especially loved my visits to Denver with my one of my "besties" Robin and my extended family the Zietzs.  I will always remember Mr Zietz as someone who was selective with his words but when he shared he was always funny and so thoughtful.  He was an amazing husband, Dad, Grandpa and friend and a true example of a gentleman and Coloradan outdoors-man.  I appreciate Mr Zietz being so welcoming, kind and always ready for participating in a laugh or silliness such as dressing in Robin's and my snowboarding attire (snow beanies/shades and all) with Mrs Zietz.  I will treasure the many memories and visits where I even got to spend special milestones and holidays with the Mr Zietz and his family..........Christmas, my 21st B-day and Robin and Dan's wedding. Mr Zietz will forever be in my heart and will never be forgotten. Please know that Jack and I are thinking of you all every day and sending all of our love and support.
All of our love,
Lisa and Jack Altmann

To Fred's family,
Fred will always be remembered as a genuine soul among all of those who love the out of doors, and now he has taken the next step to watch over us all from above.
Ironically this past weekend, with the opening of turkey season, Fred's name and memories sprang up in several conversations. His life long love of the property and all that we have accomplished over the years, not to mention his passion for fishing and hunting there, will always be remembered fondly by us all. Our hearts and prayers are with you at this time. Love to you all.
