My brother from another mother! I thank God he put Fred in my life by way of my sister Tryla. I remember Fred working from sun up to sun down at Trot man Enterprises. He would have enough energy for about 4 men. Fred shared his way of cooking with us and all of his different fruits he enjoyed eating. I do miss my brother but I know God needed him more. A Real Ohio State Fan! Lol Fred and I had a tight bond because we where both Aquarius and we think alike on some things so we would use that to mess with Moma and Tryla. I will truly miss you Fred because you thought me a lot about life and how to live it. Thank You and I will never forget you. Love You My Brother

A Jokester, a Storyteller, and a Prankster...…. these are the descriptions that I choose to remember Fred by. He called me "Re", and I called him "Deacon B"! He got great joy in telling the most funniest stories, and making jokes just to see people laugh. You could always depend on him to come up with something wacky that made you smile; he could just make it up from nothing! ha ha haha!!! He had a nickname for just about everybody! I loved that creative mind that he had, and people liked being around him just for that. I loved to hear the stories he told about his early days of coming to know the Lord and joining the church, and how he fought against everything and everyone! He would just laugh so hard at himself, and I laughed right along with him.
He was known for being WELL DRESSED! Everything matching! and not even afraid to wear the loudest colors sometimes - but he always looked good in them-and would fight with anyone who disagreed. ha ha
His serious side was his relationship with the Lord, he was so committed and so grateful for all his blessings. He was committed to my sister and he made sure that she had everything that she needed. I was so happy to know that my sister was well taken care of-and he protected her too. Their love for each other was always on display- even thru their trials and challenges.
I choose to remember Deacon B for his demonstration of serving the Lord, for being a great husband to Tryla, and for being the life of the party at our family gatherings!
Let’s celebrate his life and follow his shining example!
Much Love, Maria Young

It was such a pleasure to watch Mr. Bentley care so much for his wife and wanting to purchase a home for her. He knew his days were numbered, but he was determined to fight through his pain to stay alive for Tryla until she found her dream home. What a gentlemen!! What a Man!! GOD is so pleased, he removed the pain and took you home to be with him.

My brother, my friend.... I thank God for your union to my dear sister Tryla, or, Try, as you so lovingly called her, and for having you in our family for over 30 years. You will be dearly missed. I shall never forget the talks that we shared, your love for God and Tryla, your sense of humor, and your willingness to always impart your wisdom. I smile to myself each time I think about one of my most recent humorous memories of my brother. I received a voicemail message from Tryla, which was a request for some desserts that she wanted me to prepare and mail to her from GA to OH for ‘HER’ birthday. As I listened to the message, it came as no surprise that she wanted oatmeal raisin cookies, however, I was surprised to hear that she also wanted tiger cake. Well, I later learned that Fred had actually put her up to calling and requesting the tiger cake (one of his favorite cakes) for ‘HER’ birthday...LOL!!! I love you my brother, and I will certainly miss you. May you rest in Heaven!!!

With much love,
You sister Jacqui

I knew cousin Freddy before our adult years. We were a trio of Freddy, Robby and Junior (me.) When I visited Grandmother Mary Bentley in Dermott, Arkansas weekly and summers, Freddy served as the older brother, which I did not have, in all adventures of playing by young children, before his family moved to Ohio. Then I only visited Uncle Eugene and family in Springfield one full summer, then in passing-through after my freshman year of college at Howard U. in 1965. Freddy had a convertible and saw that I probably was looking too studious when he said lets go for a spin – Freddy, Robby and Junior. It was an unforgettable trip to and from Central State University moving at maybe 100 mph with no seatbelts. I was is shock thinking that I would be launched to the moon. But over the years, Cousin had mellowed gracefully with wisdom and had positively touched many lives including my own in that I put-down a trumpet and took-up basketball inspired by Freddy for many decades of enjoyable exercise even until now.

God’s blessings,
Cousin Cleo L. Bentley, Jr.

Fred was a wonderful, kind soul, who loved to kid and laugh... I called him “backy” it was a inside joke between him, Tryla and myself. I remember Fred the most from when I worked at Subway, he would come there for lunch to get “the hook up” from his sister in law, that’s how he ordered his food... LOL. I remember him driving the tour bus for many famous people and once when he drove to the Carolinas when I lived there, he was able to introduce me to CeCe Pennaston  and also
R Kelly... I was so excited.  I loved Fred very much and I was happy he married my wonderful sister and that he was a part of our family. I will never forget you my brother Fred. May your soul rest in Gods loving arms, and also knowing that you are loved.

Your sister,

Alicesteno Harris

Brother In Law & Uncle

Those we love, remain with us for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
for as long as we have memories, they’ll live on in our hearts.

(2 Timothy 4:7) - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith (8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day

Words cannot express what I am feeling in my heart right now. Tears fall every time I think of you. I love you brother. Whenever I would call my brother he would come to see about me.
