Gabriele Rosenfeld was born in Berlin to Dr. Fritz and Margarete (Manasse) von Gutfeld. She left Germany in 1939 with her family for Sweden and emigrated to the United States in January 1940. She grew up in Richmond, VA and subsequently lived in Chicago, Princeton, and Kew Gardens. She graduated from Richmond Hill H.S. and Queens College.
She was employed as a ground hostess for Swissair, as a social worker in Chicago, and as an assistant teacher for special education in the LA County school system. Her work in the classroom was highly rewarding as she helped many students with difficulties make progress.
Her marriage to Howard Rosenfeld ended in amicable divorce. She was predeceased by her sister, Renate von Gutfeld. She is survived by her brother Robert von Gutfeld (Deanna), her nephew Andrew von Gutfeld, and her niece Sonia von Gutfeld.
