Dear Sister, I miss you everyday. It is hard not having you to talk to.
I miss our talks about books. The last book you read that we talked about was, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Our love of books was started by our mother who always took us to libraries. She instilled the love of reading in us. We also always read newspapers and discuss articles together.
Beading was another pleasure we shared. Making our own jewelry gave us much pleasure. We took classes together to learn new woven bead designs.
Sometimes we learned a new pattern from the many beading magazines that we perused.
Sister, you were such a fashionista. I will miss our shopping adventures and your style.
We loved gardens and flowers. Often we would visit Bartrum Garden in Philadelphia or Longwood Garden. I wish that I could talk to you about all the beautiful blooms happening this Spring. Today the wisteria is particularly beautiful.
I will miss your cooking. You always made such delicious meals and decorated the table so beautifully. Everything always looked so pretty. I loved when you used to write the menu on your chalkboard like at a restaurant.
And finally I will miss all the fun we had with the dogs when we took their photographs. It was always Gail's zoo.
Thank you sister for always being generous to my children, Michael Sean, Matt and Alyson Rose: Love, Diane
