I thank God for having the privilege of knowing you. George, you were a choice of vessel of the Lord and greatly impacted the life of many. You told me of big dreams, ambitions and how to outcome them. Your passing is a great loss for us who knew you. There will be a gaping hole in our hearts for sometime , but God will use the instrument of time to heal those holes. Rest in Peace .

Tribute to a Dear Friend, George Korley

“Live not as though there were a thousand years ahead of you. Fate is at your elbow; make yourself good while life and power are still yours.” ~ Marcus Aurelius

Words fail me. I’m heart broken, we all are, the 79 ners. Your energy, vitality, was the fuel that brought the platform and “night train” to life. We are in shock and miss you badly. That hearty deep belly laugh, so happy and so infectious. You actually type out the hahaha! In your messages. My last WhatsApp message to you was commenting on how much I loved your typed out lengthy laugh and your response “Yes I prefer that to the imoji's. its just how I feel“.

We share so many memories from way back. Visits to the Kokomlemle house and the unending walks across the makeshift bridge to get me home. I remember your very personal call to comfort me when I lost mum and the things you remembered about her that I had even forgotten and your drive to Philly to meet my daughter and I. We hadn’t seen each other in decades but it felt like yesterday and we just picked up from where we left off. What joy! The love, the laughter, the stories that entertained and excited my daughter.

The visit to Ghana we looked forward to was not to be. You left without saying goodbye. We are all confused and feeling bereft. Your sudden departure has forced us all once again to confront the reality of life and it’s fleeting nature. It is instructive not to put much faith in tomorrow. You were passionate, a doer, you got things done and perhaps your work here is done. I don’t know, trying to make sense of it all .... but dear friend, all said and done

A true friend is never truly gone and the bond between friends is beyond the mortal world.

May the choir of angels meet you and may you have eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
Till we meet again.

Like many on this site, I was completely blindsided and disheartened by the news of the passing of George. I had been in touch with him via WhatsApp just few weeks back so you can imagine my surprise when i heard of his death. He was a thoughtful and considerate human being.
To his wife and kids, your husband and dad was not only a successful and accomplished man but better still, he was great human being. He was helpful and generous with his time and professional expertise. George was a class act. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathies for your loss. We all pray that he is in a better place and resting well in perfect peace.

Man Korleey! Casanova! The man who called me Savanna Georgia. Yeah, we talked about my adventure to Savanna when we chatted the last time. My friend, brother, and wonderful math tutor. My love for learning was enhanced because you guided and supported me when I needed it. I am forever grateful. I was shocked to hear about your passing. I send loving thoughts to you and wish your family strength and courage to meditate that even though things like these don’t make sense, God is in control. We look up to his Grace and everlasting love. We will miss you and hope to meet again someday. Rest in peace.

Dear George,
You steered me to the right direction when you came home with the CHIEF newspaper and encouraged me to go take some tests to advance myself. I still have this job today because you shared the wisdom and knowledge. I will always remember the kindness, support and the unselfish nature you had. I thank God for everything he put you on this earth to do and accomplish. REST PEACEFULLY GEORGE.

GK: when God gave us rhythm, He sure was good to you.
You could add, subtract, multiply and divide by two.

You thrived to achieve and didn’t let any mountain become an obstacle in your way.

We’ve been denied a joyous end to our travails
However, you left us with your infectious smile and your good heart. We will persevere with your thoughts in mind and your soul on the table breaking bread together and conducting the Friday services.

Saigon can and will consciously Refuse to replace you.

You’re unique to us.

Just wait for us in the Almighty’s arms.

Anyemi, your Saigon brothers cannot keep a dry eye.
Tears abound.

We love you GK
Rest in perfect peace.

Anyɛmi, I am still waiting for your promised call after talking with you on the 30th January. Alas we can't, because you have suddenly been called by your Creator to join His Angelic Hosts.

We miss you sorely and mourn your sudden departure as we shall miss your loving, friendly disposition and banter. Our 79 platform is missing your hilarious posts, comments and discussions. We are devastated by our sudden loss of you and we are in deep sorrow and sadness!

We thank God for lending you to us as we part company and pray that He will grant you peaceful rest in His bosom! Rest well Anyɛmi!!!

We little knew that day
That almighty was going to call GK
In life we love you dearly
In death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone
For part of us went with you GK
The day God called you home
You left us precious memories
Your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you
You're always by our side
Our family( SAIGON) chain is broken and nothing seems the same
But Saigon chain will link again.
GK,CASANOVA REST IN PERFECT PEACE
