You are My Sunshine, My only Sunshine
You make me happy when skis are Gray
You never know dear, How much we Loved you
So please don't take my sunshine away
Tributes
Leave a tributeDaddy would be 92 years old and is still in our hearts so it makes him 92 years making his Legacy for us to learn from as we continue to share him in our Lives
You Are My Sunshine George Abbott
2020 makes 7 years since he passed and to date, I still have not touched a single cigarette as promised to Dad just prior to taking his last breath
Love you Daddy and miss you so much
Since then, George grew up on a farm until he moved with his Family to Shada Ave in Baton Rouge and attended Baton Rouge High School
We miss him dearly alonmg with the jokes he always shared over and over
Although we truly miss Daddy, we celebrate this day and remember the things he taught us, the things he gave to us and of course all the memories.
I realize that I miss the jokes that he used to tell often, but never was tired of hearing them.
We praise our Father and we love our Father with all of our heart.
We miss you and can't wait to come join you again some day
I promised to never ever touch another cigarette. I have been cigarette free and keeping my promise to you. I love you and i know that i can never say i am sorry, so i just don't think about them at all. I have made 2 full years without a cigarette cause i Love you and i will keep my promise to you
George Abbott was my Sunshine, My Only sunshine
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be;
So he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me George"
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away;
and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, a precious soul at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
The Bible’s answer
In the Bible, the word translated as “resurrection” comes from the Greek a·na′sta·sis, which means “raising up” or “standing up again.” A person who is resurrected is raised up from death and restored to life as the person he was before.—1 Corinthians 15:12, 13.
Although the word “resurrection” is not in the Hebrew Scriptures, often called the Old Testament, the teaching appears there. Through the prophet Hosea, for example, God promised: “From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; from death I will recover them.”—Hosea 13:14; Job 14:13-15; Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2, 13.
Where will people be resurrected? Some people are resurrected to life in heaven to rule as kings with Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:1; Revelation 5:9, 10) The Bible calls this “the first resurrection” and “the earlier resurrection,” both expressions implying that there is another resurrection to follow. (Revelation 20:6; Philippians 3:11) This later resurrection will be to life on earth, which the vast majority of those brought back to life will enjoy.—Psalm 37:29.
Memories

I feel a warmth around me
like your presence is so near,
And I close my eyes to visualize
your face when you were here,
I endure the times we spent together
and they are locked inside my heart,
For as long as I have those memories
we will never be apart,
Even though we cannot speak anymore
my voice is always there,
Because every night before I sleep
I have you in my prayer.
we shall rejoice and celebrate his life with us and remember him every day that passes
Love You George Abbott
Dad I think of you often and think about a lot of things we missed out on. Watching my kids grow up and all the activities we do. I miss those days when I was little and playing ball in the front yard. I love you and miss you dearly.
I also remember the trips that he and I took to Cancun Mexico, and to Reno Nevada.
I miss having him here with us and this upcoming Saturday marks 1 yr since he left us, however I know that he has been rejoicing in heaven with Paw Paw Abbott, Maw Maw Abbott, Uncle Eldon, Uncle Ray, Uncle Glenn, and Aunt Edna. Dad I Love you
Leave a Tribute
11 Years and still not smoking and truly missing you George M. Abbott
You were always giving us wisdom, Love and Family values.
One day, i will join you in Heaven and rejoice and learn from you the joy of being there with God and Family
10 years without Dad and Cigarettes
Sometimes, i wish i could call him and just talk about what's going on in my life and surely ask his advice.
I would not be the Man i am today without dad's ways of bringing us up and teaching us the best he could. Dad, never did the bars, hunting or fishing but he loved being with his Family and providing for us
Thank You George Abbott You left us with a tall order to follow and the path paved for us
9 Years
Each and every day, I think about the times we shared, whether it was at a job he was working or a baseball game that i was working at. The Family gatherings or just a visit. I would go by and sit and just watch T.V with him as he would get ready for bed.
I sure miss those days with him, but i know he is not sad or in pain any more and one day, i will get to join him and we can sit together and just be Happy.
Thank you Daddy, for making me who I am today and giving the knowledge that you shared
