I was a recipient of Glen and Ruri's welcome hosting on two visits from Los Angeles--once in AnnArbor, and once in Tucson. He always made sure I was well-fed, saw the best sights around, heard beautiful music, and was engaged in lively conversation. I will miss him, and I send my love to Ruri, Tom, Peter, David, Toyo, and their families.

As my brother-in-law and my late mother's son-in-law, Glen always
embraced us as part of his family with his spirit of kindness and
generosity…always. We were the lucky ones. " Arigatai!" as he would say.

I was one of the lucky ones to read Gleln's autobiography in an effort to get it published.but my daughter, who is an acquisitions editor, told him that it was interesting but needed further editing. Unfortunately, the editing never happened.
Glen and i were classmates at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and good friends. He was always calm, in great humor, knew the answers and was a thoughtful colleague with whom you could sit and talk.
He made the world much richer. We will miss him.

Ruri, Tom, David and Peter,

We are very fortunate to have met Glen and remember fondly the many joyous get-togethers, cook-outs and fun tennis parties, the many stimulating discussions on so many topics, including his family history.
He was one of those rare truly gentle friends. We miss him dearly.

I was an x-ray tech at St. Joe's from '69-'75, and worked with Dr. Kumasaka. He was a wonderful person to work with, and always took any opportunity to teach us. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered. Best wishes to his family.

Ruri, Tom, David and Peter:
I share your sadness at losing Glen. The best thing is that we had him in our lives so long. Aren't we lucky? (Glen's favorite phrase). Love to all of you.

I feel so fortunate that I was able to spend dad's last weeks at his bedside.
