Hard to believe my best friend has been gone for three years. He is continually missed, but especially this time of year. From 1963 to 1973, on this date we would have most likely been outside somewhere throwing a football around. He had a knack for throwing the ball and was usually the QB in our "backyard" games. I so miss those days when our biggest problems were finding guys to play against and deciding how long we could stay outside without getting in trouble. In October of 2016, when we first learned he was sick, I drove to Macon, Georgia for lunch and a time to throw a ball around a yard one more time. It turned out to be the last time we did that and I hope I remember it till we meet again. Thanks Glenn, for all those times.

Glenn is more than my friend and he will be missed as much as anyone that I have known. I first met him in 1958 as my grandparents were building a house behind the Langners. In 1963 when I moved to the neighborhood we became special friends developing a love of sports and competition that lasted a life time. Unfortunately he was better at almost everything we did and I always came up short unless it was a foot race and he was too smart to let me have many of those victories. But in everything else I kept trying fruitlessly including our last basketball games in 2016. He truly enjoyed beating me at everything we did. He was also a big part of my memory as he remembered so much more than me. I will so miss the things that he could tell me about our times together.

He was truly the finest man I will ever know and I will sorely miss our conversations and lunches that we had begun prior to this terrible time we call 2020. A time that has taken so much away from all of us.

Finally, I would like to add that in the race that counted, he has completed it and heard his Lord and Savior say "Well done, Glenn, well done". Just had to beat me one last time...

Much love, my brother.
