Happy Birthday, Daddy!! I miss you so much. Since you lived with me for over four years, I think the loss may be more intense. We were roomies. For a long time afterward, I'd look in your room around your usual bedtime to make sure you were okay. It gave me a jolt each time. I hope you and Mom and together again and having a wonderful life. God bless you and keep you.

Today would have been Dad's 100th birthday. We all expected to be celebrating it with Dad and I had already been thinking of the party we would have for him. He still seemed so strong and full of life. We never expected to lose him when we did even though he had lived a long life. Today is a very sad day for me.

I have been so incredibly proud of my father, Harry Northway, and besides my mother, I've admired him more than any other person I've ever known. In our family, he was our rock. He was a man of few words, but taught through his actions. With or without demonstration, we knew his love for us. Given the years he lived and his vitality, it seemed he'd be there for us forever. Sadly, that wasn't so. Going forward without him will be a difficult adjustment to make.
