On August 28th, 1993, Harvey married his wife Lucy at the United Church in Vancouver, BC. They had their son Chris the following year and lived in a small townhouse at the edge of Vancouver. In 1997 they moved to Calgary but their duration in the city was short-lived until they finally moved to San Francisco in 1999.

He was a loving husband and devoted father.

In 1991, Harvey obtained his first job as an actuary in a small firm Eckler & Partners. He received his "Associate of the Society of Actuaries" certificate in 1994, and soon afterward he switched jobs into a larger company The Coles Group in 1995. After living and growing up in Vancouver, Harvey decided to take on a job in Calgary working with Mercer in 1997; however, he decided to leave Calgary since it was "too cold."

In 1999, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work for Watson Wyatt Worldwide, which also did not last very long until he joined Rael & Letson in 2001. Working there for nearly ten years, Harvey was a hard worker and skilled team leader.

After graduating from Thompson Secondary in 1981, Harvey went on to attending the University of British Columbia where he majored in engineering; however he disliked the field. He then transfered to Simon Fraser University and became a math major. He graduated in 1990.

While studying in college, Harvey picked up many miscellaneous jobs on the way. He was a security officer, and those traits showed through in his management skills. He was a pizza delivery guy, which was partly a reason why he possessed an enormous appetite and fondness for food. In addition, Harvey was once a taxi driver (anyone in his car could tell right away).

Youth

As a child, Harvey was an exceptional student in school, excelling especially in math. He was very social and outgoing, often occupied with partying and camping with friends. Harvey also came to be known as a notrious troublemaker at school. As a senior prank, he had kidnapped the principal and locked him in the back of his trunk. In another incident he dressed up in a chicken costume and tossed raw eggs at fellow classmates and teachers during his high school granduation.
