His Life

Our Pooh Bear Haydden

July 29, 2015

Haydden was born on July 13, 2004 with a severe seizure disorder, also Lennox Gastaut Syndrome hypotonicity, chromosomal abnormalities, impaired mobility, inability to perfrom ADLS,and profound intellectual disability. His clinical picture consistent with multifocal epilepsy and he has medically complicated care for his multiple seizures a day.His seizures were subtle, mainly of the extensor type and frequent eye fluttering episodes, and occur many times a day.He also had longer and larger seizures that consist of tonic clonic activity. He had a vagal nerve stimulator implanted in the left chest. If Haydden had an increase of seizures per day he would get swiped with a magnet along with all his medications.Haydden was severely impaired in both expressive and receptive communication skills and because of his difficult to control seizures he is more likly to have an increase in his seizure number and intensity with chages in environment, schedule. and typical routines. He did not have the ability to verbally communicate and these skills are that his personal and medical safety  could have been compromised. Haydden was also unable to sense dangerous situations, he had a lack of fear response, and he had a blunted response to pain.  He was unble to eat and had a JG tude. His ability to carry out activities independently was significantly limited. His  overall neurological statuw and infulence of seizure activity and low muscle tone impacted his ability to reach, grasp and activate swiches. He used a variety of positioning devices specifically fitted to him throughout his day. Haydden loved toys which provided multiple sensory input such as lights and music.Haydden was able to visually follow you as you walked across the room. He enjoyed the social interactions. He also loved you to sing to him.He required 24/7 care he was never left along his Mother, Grandmother and Grandfather were by his side at all times. He was so loved if love could have saved him he would still be here.
God had other plans for him, now he is dancing and running around and singing with our Lord.
He brought so much joy into our lives.
We miss you so much Pooh Bear!!
