Air Force Reunion
Treasures
Helen and I loved to go to garage sales and we always found something to buy.
My son, Neal, told us that we should drop off something of ours at each one we went to, no one would notice. Of course we never did, we couldn't give away all our treasures!!
Old Yeller
I was always excited to look for my parents in the crowd when I was in band in high school.
One concert was a Dixieland Jazz concert for Memorial Day in Milwaukee, WI. I searched and searched and couldn't find her for the longest time.
Finally, I spotted her after my friend was helping me search. I said "Oooh, there she is, dressed all in yellow, how pretty!" I shared this story with Mom and Dad later and Dad said "You shoulda said, 'Yep, there's my mom, dressed all in yellow, we call her Old Yeller'".
Dad got a kick out of it, and yellow flowers became a staple for us to smile, always.
I'll miss ya, Old Yeller.
