It doesn't seem like ten years since she passed. My mom continues to be remembered...in food, in the garden, and in so many stories.

Miss you, Grandma. We made Perogies a few months ago and Maren got selected to tell the whole school about her Polish and Ukrainian heritage! I think you would have been very proud.

It was nine years ago that my mom left us and I've been thinking today about how she enjoyed teaching French, the fun she had hosting French exchange students, and her unrealized dream to one day travel to Paris.

If she had it to do over, I wonder if she would find a way to go ...or if she just enjoyed the dream.

In many ways, it does not seem as if it has already been seven years since my mom passed. Time may pass quickly, but her influence endures. I am constantly reminded of her, whether in the garden (by the gardenias, camelias, fuschias and roses), the kitchen ("that's the best I ever tasted") or the stories we share (like Kitten on her feet). I can only imagine the very strong opinions she would have about the current state of the world and its leaders, and the language she would use to express those opinions...

The best things about Grandma were her fierce loyalty to her family, her wry sense of humor, her wonderful cooking, and her honesty. She gave firm, enveloping hugs, remembered every birthday with a card and a call, and was always there to listen. We will always cherish memories of childhood visit to CA, perogies, and trips to Disneyland. We love you, Grandma! Andrea, Ty, and Kai

As the model of a strong and independent woman who accomplished whatever she set her mind to do, I learned valuable and unforgettable lessons from my mother about home, family and career.

Helen was my mother-in-law for 30 years. She always treated me like her own son, and was loving and generous. We spent countless holidays and special occasions together, always enjoying a special meal she would say she prepared just for me. I especially enjoyed provoking a discussion with her about politics as she was never shy about expressing her opinions. She will be missed terribly.
