Henry Byamugisha was born on January 12, 1951 to Alice Norah and Asanasiyo Katono.  Asanasiyo Katono was a mukimbiri with a mwishikatwa mother and Alice Nora was a Rwandan Mushambo with a Mugaahe mother .
Heenry ,attended Nyakaina and Kyamakanda Primary  Schools and finished junior secondary school studies at Kebisoni.  Secondary school at Makobole High School as well as Jinja Secondary Schools. Henry attended University of Dar es Salaam, in Tanzania, where he studied Political Science.
As a student, he was involved in student politics and was among the leaders of demonstrations that led to the closure of university of Dar in 1976.  He was involved with FRONASA and  On return to Uganda he worked as a special assistant to the then minister for regional co-operation, vice chairman of the military commission and later founder of the Uganda Patriotic Movement (UPM). During the bush war he remained in Tanzania liaising and engaging the Tanzanian Government and others. On return after the NRM victory he worked with Maendeleo Publishing focusing on education and development of urban and rural communities.  At the time of his death, he was a business consultant and lobbyist focused on mining, security and politics.
Henry loved everyone selflessly and was generously empathetic to a fault.  He was that one best and genuine friend most people had, a father to many and a confidant to most of us.  The way he lived his life reminds us to love deeply, use money for good and be always be there when needed.  An angel got his wings!
