Oh my God! I thought Mr. Loreck is still healthy and living a great life. I miss
him and his wife so very much. I do not know how to express myself now.
I am shocked !
All because of him, I am still alive in USA(Guam island). While I was working at
LH in Narita, Japan, he was a like my father and mentor as well, and he did
guide me my future life here in USA. When I moved to USA, we had a such great time in LA, we had Sushi together, drink together and etc., etc., Even you were away from LA, we were corresponding each other.

Great thing is Alex & Illysia Neumann-Loreck wrote me a letter to find out their parent today because we were vacationing at Okinawa, Japan and Narita ,Japan. Oh Boy ! I had such a lots of memories about Mr.& Mrs. Hans Neumann-Loreck.

I am sure he is in Heaven meeting together with Regina. Loreck San, I will never ever forget about your kindness and Kokoro. Please do still guide me what to from Heaven. I miss your folks so much . I love you both.
God bless you !! Domoarigatougozaimashita. Itsumademo Loreck San wa

His Life
October 30, 2019
On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, Hans Neumann-Loreck passed away at the age of 92 in San Francisco.

Hans was born on March 13, 1927 in Sorau, Germany, an area now part of Poland. His parents Wilhelm Ewald Neumann and Rosel Julia Loreck came from humble circumstances in Sorau Lausitz, but Wilhelm Ewald worked his way up to an influential administrative position in the district government. Hans attended school in Sorau and grew up in the difficult days of World War II. His first job was as a truck driver for the 15th U.S. Army in Bad Nauheim (led by General George S Patton). In 1947, he started at the Travel Agency Flechtner in Bad Nauheim where he quickly worked his way up. This began a long career in the travel industry. He had positions at American Express, Italian Airlines and Pan American, He eventually joined Lufthansa German Airlines in 1959 in New York. Hans spent 31 years at Lufthansa including a position as station manager in Boston where he opened the Lufthansa office at Logan Airport for its 1st flight. He went on to be station manager in Chicago, New York, Tokyo, Dallas and Los Angeles. He always enjoyed his work and joked that he would continue to go to work even if they stopped paying him. He was close with and well-liked by his coworkers, and was particularly proud of those he mentored.

Despite his early education being interrupted by the war, Hans was always studying. He studied Latin, spoke basic Russian, took law courses in the U.S. and was always reading. While in retirement, he wrote a memoir about his life including historical details he researched.

On March 9, 1957 Hans married Regina Jadkowski in Munich, and they were married for over 61 years. While Hans worked hard, he was a family man. He was dedicated to his wife and sons and was always there when his family needed him. Trips all over the world were a big part of family life. Hans and Regina lived together in Germany, New York, Massachusetts, Japan, Texas and California, before settling in Delray Beach, Florida.

Hans tirelessly took care of Regina when she fell ill and had a heart transplant in 1990, and he devoted himself to her throughout their retirement. Regina Neumann-Loreck passed away in Delray Beach Florida on August 10, 2018. Hans spent the last year living near family, first in New Jersey and then in California.

Hans and Regina are survived by their two sons, Andre Neumann-Loreck, married to Kay Yun, and Alexander Neumann-Loreck, married to Illysia, and their four grandchildren Alexander, Anna, Annika and Oliver.

A service will be held on November 25, 2019 at 9:00 am at the Fernwood Funeral Home in the San Francisco Bay Area, where Hans and Regina will be buried together. May they rest in peace.
