3 years later and it still fills like I’d wake up and hear your voice again. Time does not make it easier but I am Just learning to live with it by his grace.

Brother
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new.
I thought of you yesterday and days before that too.
You left me beautiful memories, your love is still my guide.
And though I can not see you,
You are always by my side, Forever in my heart.
God has you in his arms, I Have you in my heart.

Words fail me due to utter shock upon coming across information about the passing on of an astute, distinguished and exceptionally gifted entrepreneur and unassuming leader in the person of Sir Tony Ashamu, to whom I'm wholly indebted to for imparting me with extremely positive ways of work and business ethics while working for him both at Olive Estate Inc. and Ashmart Supermarket.
I can only pray and believe in total faith in God that He in His Infinite Love and Mercy shall Grant him Eternal and Perfect rest in His Kingdom and grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear his departure in Christ's Loving and Mighty Name, Amen.
Rest in Peace and Power sir.

So sad to hear you are gone. I only met you 3 times but those were very fund memories. The 1st was when I met you for the very 1st time with my dear friend and sis Nuli, your wife, you were so calm and friendly, my husband (fiancé then), made a comment about you afterwards "you look so perfect for her" i saw the way you dotted on her.. I just knew you were her one true love she spoke about for years..
The last time I saw you was when I went looking for my friend..I saw your genuine care for my worried mind.. you were such a wonderful soul.. I know the Good Lord will take you to his side. You will surely be missed.
May your gentle soul rest in the blossom of the lord.

You taught us how to be meek and humble while conquering the world and that siblings are our first line of defense and that we need to be grateful for them. It was an honor knowing you. Rest well my friend.

Ibukun, ultimate EOE. He was friends with all and any. He would walk up to any one and strike up a conversation. He had such an endearing spirit.

He was such a fighter! He really did fight till the end. He held on for so long. I dont think No was a word he recognized in the dictionary. He had huge goals and dreams and was not afraid to go after them. One step at a time, ignoring the Nos. Those goals scary to others, but not to him. He was hella determined. Nothing came in his way. Very competitive, sore looser at times but it was that determination to finish first that paved his way. I remember he was the first amongst "us" to bank that IT job. First to dare to fly the coop and leave MD for Ohio.

Very respectful. Favorite amongst the moms besides his friend Alex. Those 2 had all the MD moms wishing their daughters bagged such respectful and charming men.

Quite the ladies man too. He went after his ladies like any of his big goals. Never took no for an answer and many a times you would hear the other fellas say damn how did you get that girl! He def knew pretty when he saw one.

I will remember his smile, his laugh, his fun energy and will remember him when my goals seem too lofty for me. He always pushed through, always persevered. So can I.

You left your mark my friend. Your passing certainly jolted us the 94-96 yankee babies. Till we meet again dear friend....

IBK.. unbelievable !!! What a colossal loss. I remembered when we used to eat 'suya' roasted meat at Ojodu, Lagos.
Strong man, intelligent, loving, open minded, extremely confident and smart.
What a loss.

You will forever be remembered as an ICON in the Ashame Dynasty. ADIEU

We are really at a loss of words. Such a cliche, but "gone too soon" is all we say.
Thank God that you, Tony, graced this world and left several indelible footprints, glimpses of which we are blessed to see through your children and your sister Dola, who is our dear friend.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family. We pray that God guides you, as you navigate this huge loss.
Our deepest sympathies.
May Tony's soul transition peacefully and rest in eternal peace.

It pains me deeply to have to write this. I met Tony at a Census Bureau. Tonys Olive Networks managed, for a time the entire network infrastructure supporting the Decennial census. He was impressive in his command of technology and his professionalism and integrity. He is one of the most dynamic people I’ve ever met. Why? Why? Why? God bless his family and his kids. RIP.

I'll miss Tony immensely! Despite our difference in age of 18 years, I always told Tony I want to grow up and be just like you. He's touched so many life's. My prayers to the family and love ones who are feeling this pain. Will remember you always, your Brother!

This is so sad. He is such a visionary. Such a great man and son of Oyo state - this is so sad! His gentle soul rest in peace. And may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this loss, and I'll like them to know that he is truly loved here in Oyo state, and his legacy lives on.

I rarely wish we can honor him in Nigeria with a yearly event such as an annual Ibukun Tony Ashamu Innovation Challenge or Ibukun Tony Ashamu Interschools Debate within Oyo state. His legacy lives on in our hearts!

I will post this on his official Facebook page for people to tune in to the Memorial, if they can. Painfully, he and I were the ones with access to his official Facebook page, and after this I don't know what to do with it - perhaps Archive it in his honour or just let it be. This is sad but the Holyspirit will comfort us!

Ibukun, it has pleased the good Lord to call you home at a tender age - at the age that the all knowing God deem that you have completed your assignment.  As mothers, we agonize because you have left a hole which only the almighty God can fill. You left father, mother, wife, daughters and siblings. No one can reconcile your early departure except for He (the Lord) who made it so.
You call other people's mummy as if you came from their womb, without taking anything away from your own mother. The Yoruba culture was deep in your blood (Omó abire) very respectful, charming, kind with words. You are always in the present - making a long time feel like yesterday.
I pray that the good Lord will comfort your mother and your wife. May God wipe away their tears as they take comfort in the joys shared with you.
May God be the father to your girls and help them to excel in whatever they do.
I pray that God in His infinite mercy grant you pardon and mercy for your errors and pour His perpetual light into your soul.
May your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in perfect peace. Rest in peace, amen.
