On this cold winter day, I've been dreaming about summer swimming, and you popped into my memory of you lapping the indoor pool at 90! You still motivate me.

Izzy, you would have liked watching my team this year. They are a tough bunch of girls with a lot of spirit and skill!

Izzy, as she was know around our house, was my Great Aunt. She inspired me to go into high school athletics and showed my the type of legacy that one can leave in a life of service. She remained active until her last days, lived simply and enjoyed the company of others. I will miss her. She DID have some pretty excellent cars too!

Miss Chris was great... Always there for all of us, ready with a kind word, always with a smile, always ready for a visit. She was a bright spot in my STS years. What an amazing person.

Miss Chris stood for integrity and responsibility. She was kind and caring at the same time. Let me also mention compassionate. I am so grateful that she was in my life! Cecily Sharp-Whitehill, HMA Class of 1960

Chris was an inspiring teacher to me, a non athletic person. I was in touch with her from 7th grade in 1949 until this year, 2015. Chris was always cheerful and a friend, I often went back to reunions at St Tims just to be able to be in her company! If she had not got me to play hockey, I would not be going to Jazzercise 5 times a week now. The fact that she played tennis way into her 80s gives me discipline. Loved her! The picture I put on was taken at the 2006 reunion.

The best Aunt one could wish for! Thanks for all the great times together: teaching me golf, boating, manners, and many more things. So many Christmases, other holidays. Good times will always be remembered.
I'll love you forever Isabelle.

The President's Volunteer Service Award

April 19, 2020

THE WHITE HOUSE

WASHINGTON

Congratulations on receiving the President's Volunteer Service Award, and thank you for helping to address the most pressing needs in your community and our country.

In my Inaugural Address, I stated that we need a new era of responsibility—a recognition on the part of every American that we have duties to ourselves, our Nation, and the world. These are duties that we do not grudgingly accept, but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit than giving our all to a difficult task. Your volunteer service demonstrates the kind of commitment to your community that moves America a step closer to its great promise.

Our Nation faces the most challenging economic crisis in a lifetime. We will only renew America if we all work together. Individuals, the private sector, and government must combine efforts to make real and lasting change so that each person has the opportunity to fulfill his or her potential.

While government can open more opportunities for us to serve our communities, it is up to each of us to seize those opportunities. Thank you for your devotion to service and for doing all you can to shape a better tomorrow for our great Nation.

SPECIAL HEADMASTERS AWARD

I am going to give this special Headmasters Award, a sterling silver tray, a very special memento on which is engraved something remarkable.

It shows that this person began her work in our school when I was three years old and she continued it every day all her career with the same thoughtfulness for others, good humor and energy that she has today. Maybe a shade less this year since she had to settle for second in the faculty student tennis tournament instead of first like last year. Whose big white supercharged car rushes this way and that when students need to get somewhere? The special consideration she has shown all of her colleagues is equal to her love for our students. For her wonderful good nature, her steadfast loyalty and the honor she has shown us all, I ask you — send me Miss Chris!
