Uncle Iyosi like I alway like to call you. I can never forget when my dad died, you came to Calaba to bring my mum, brother, myself and my dad's cops back to Ondo town. When other family members rejected us. You made sure I and my brother went back to school. You accepted me when everyone rejected me. You have been a father figure ever since my father departed this sinful world. Even two weeks before your departure, you still gave me money. I will never forget your impact in my life. Continue to rest in the bossom of God Almighty. You are forever loved.

Captain was not just a wonderful man and a great father but also incredibly generous and kind man, he was willing to give the clothes off his back if he could. Despite these remarkable qualities, I’m here to remind everyone that he was also a trendsetter.

I vividly recall a conversation I had with him back in 2005 clearly, because I learnt 2 valuable life lessons,Captain loved to pair his agbada with sneakers, this was wayyy back before it became cool, and I used to hear people teasing him about it which bothered me, but he remained unfazed.
So I asked him why he paired his agbada with sneakers and he gave me the most simple answer; he said the shoes were comfortable for him. It made so much sense, he didn’t care what anybody thought about his styling, he was happy because he was comfortable.

I learnt 2 things that day:
1. Keep it simple
2. Comfort is key.

Rest in peace Captain ️
