A Lifetime of Memories

February 26
Jacke has been my best friend for 54 years. It all began in 1970 when she became my roommate at Rivier College and those 4 years were some of the best years of my life because of Jackie and her family. There are so many good memories of weekends at her home in Berlin NH, driving through snow storms in her VW,  and fun times at the family camp in Maine.  Rivier College was where the Devils Playmates were born.  A group of 7 women who loved to sing with Jackie as our lead with her wonderful angelic voice and the focal point of this small group who have continued the legacy through multiple reunions over the years.  Jackie, I will never forget you.  You will always have a place in my heart and I am grateful for the abundance of memories for having known you.  Peace, Love, Dove my friend !

The Devil's Playmates

February 26
At the time that we attended Rivier, it was small, all-women’s College. It didn’t offer much in the line of events, but Jackie galvanized a group of us to sing at school functions, and for our own entertainment. We became known as the “Devil’s Playmates” or "DPs" for short, sporting black shorts and hot pink T-shirts decaled with that very name. It was a bond that would last a lifetime.

Only Jackie...

February 25
Jackie found ways to share her joy - even in the most unexpected ways and in unlikely places. In boot camp, recruits were only allowed to wear their civilian clothes (“civies”) on weekends. During the week, from sun-up to lights out, military uniforms were mandated. But once our drill sergeants went to their quarters for the evening, Jackie’s lighter side came out. My favorite memory was her wearing red and white stripped knee socks with her fatigues. It made our Troup smile after a grueling day.

Volkswagen beetle

February 23
I remember when you were either home from college, or the service and you took me for a ride in your Volkswagen beetle.  I thought you were sooo cool!! And of course I was cool because I was with you! I remember breaking down and you popped the "trunk," did something to the engine, and we were on our way again....Wow, I was in awe....great memories

Babe, I still can't believe you're gone from my life. My vision of heaven is us together, young again, and madly in love. Love you babe, a lot, a lot , a lot.
