In '59 I was touched by Cowboy Jim. Richard Campbell, told the story of that day. (thetimesnews.com & search Remembering Cowboy Jim) I traveled the world and have told the story of Cowboy Jim on every continent except Antarctica and Australia. Thank you, Mr. Jim Gregory, for a lifelong memory and tale to share with all who will listen. You aren't forgoten but the world is less without you.
Uncle jimmy will be forever in my heart I loved how he welcomed you into the family by singing to you. I know he is in heaven having one heck of a family reunion with his guitar in hand singing to his momma. I love you uncle jimmy and i will miss you!
I married Jim's sister Jeri, and got to know him before his trek across the country on horseback. He became not only my brother but a very close friend, I will sorely miss him, and the music he sang to those he loved dearly. "Jim, love you more or less"
I have found memories of uncle Jim. He loved to sing and play his music. At grandma and grandpa's house uncle Jim asked cousins Pat, Fay, and Me to sing while he recorded us. I remembver cousin Jo and me welcoming Jim to Phoenix during his coast to coast horse ride.Jim will be missed by all who knew him. Our thought and prayers are with all especially Charlene. Love Lavonne and Paul Unger
Playing drums for you was a great part of my life. May God bless you and keep you as I know He will. Your book about the crossing of the United States on horseback was great. God bless the family of Jim and know he was a truly kind and loving person.
Howdy Partner!!! Can't recall the number of times you greeted me that way. I will always cherish my friendship with you & Barbara. And---will always remember the band jobs back in the 60's (You, me, Bill Baker, Jackie Young, and "Little" Joe)!!! Rest in Peace, my brother & mentor!!! The Cattle Are Calling!!!
Jim was always loving and kind and meant a lot to us. I remember when he rode his horse from CA to Creedmoor and met Barbara. She was also a very loving lady. Thinking of you during this time and our prayers and thoughts are with you. Ellen and Alex Poe

I grew up across the Rd. from Jim and Barbara. My memories are numerous. I was always invited over to see all the relics they aquired from their travels.Jim had so many stories and gifts to share. When I grew up and moved away I would visit when I returned to visit my Dad. I always felt welcome and was made to feel like I was someone special just like when I was a kid. My Deepest Sympathy!
Can't begin to say how much Jim meant to me. He was always so loving, kind and treated me as though I were one of his kids. He had a smile and a heart as big as all outdoors and I never remember a time he didn't give me a big hug when he saw me. I will never forget our time in the recording studio together. He will be missed by everyone because to me he was something of a legend.
