James Howard McDaniels, 87, passed Friday, March 15, 2019 in Colorado Springs.
He was born July 3, 1931 in Akron, OH to Arthur Russ and Magnolia Virginia (Hoffman) McDaniels.
Jim served in the Air Force for 22 years being stationed at places like Japan, Denver, Germany, Massachusetts, and the Air Force Academy, until he retired in 1972.
Jim then went on to follow in his father's career path, of selling life insurance, with the New York Life Insurance Co.
Jim also ran the local International Toastmasters Club, a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication and public speaking skills, and was very active with the El Paso County GOP for many many years.
Jim and Ann almost always attended a weekly mass at their Catholic Church, Corpus Christi, and Jim was one of their main lectors for many many years there.
Jim always had a great smile and laugh and loved to tell great stories and was a talented public speaker.
Jim had an interest in TV watching, politics and comedies and sports.
His most cherished times were spent with his family.
He loved his family and supporting his children more than anything.

Jim is survived by his son, John Patrick and his wife, Shirlee McDaniels(Meyer), daughter, Edith “Edie” Ann and her husband, Dennis Mahon, son James “Jim” Thomas McDaniels, son in law, Michael Douglas and his wife, Pam Miller(Davis); brother Albert Robert “Bob” and his wife, Dalma “Chris” McDaniels; grandchildren, Michael Meyer, Michael Keith Miller and Shannon Elizabeth Miller and Quinton Davis and Cierra Davis and Caleb Jackson.
Also Lee and her husband, AJ Jackson. Lee is our Dear family friend and best friend of Julia, who reminds us so much of her.
Jim was preceded in death by his bride, Anna Margaret (Walsh) McDaniels(June 2018); daughter, Julia “Julie” Kathleen Miller(2002); sister, Carol Bobel; and his parents.
